That is always a thought. However I have done further research and have found that through new tax ruling this year in march, wraps can be classed as trading stock, therefore the cgt can be delayed. Julia said as much in the thread that derek recommended aswell.
I must appologise to all those who were going to meet me tonight. Due to short notice of an onforseen circumstance I am very regretfully unable to attend tonight.[glum] Anyone who would still like to meet up at a later date please let me know.
Thanks to everyone who replied via PM, Email and reply post saying that they would like to meet up after the book launch. After talking to staff at the Hilton I have been advised that the best place to meet up would be the lounge bar. This bar is situated one floor above where the book launch will be, and in the lobby. For those of you who will be looking for me, I am 6’2″ and have short dark hair. I will be in business atire and will have my wife with me who is about 5’2″ and has long fair hair. We are both about 30 yrs of age if that will help any. I will turn my mobile phone on after the book launch and be contactable on 0416 057569. Look forward to meeting a few of you there.
I agree about alot of possible no shows. Therefore I intend to select a suitable bar at the venue or very close by, let everyone know and who ever shows, shows. At the very least I will enjoy a drink with my wife who will be along for the night also.
Thanks to all have replied via forum PM and email. I will PM you all as the date gets closer and suggest a meeting place. Does any one know if they will be using name tags on the night.
I agree kay, that comment on solicitors avoiding the work and saying “cant or shouldnt be done” was based on previous experience. Though you are likely right with it simply being a sensible professional decision most of the time due to someone else being better epuipped for the job.
Terry I have had this problem once before and found it to be a solicitor who was simply not educated and up to date with wrap methods, thus finding it easier to say it cant or shouldnt be done. I advised my clients that they were welcome to have their solicitor contact mine and or find another solictor who was educated sufficiently in the field of vendor financing. I also advised my clients that VF is more of a specialty field thus not all solicitors are compliant with it, which helps them to rest at ease after having been knocked back by a solicitor. Hope this helps a little.
I recommend Reg Mclean of Davenport Partners in Ormond Vic. I have used hiim for several years and find him very good. I have never lived in melbourne and infact i now live in brisbane and still use him. Worth having a chat with him at the very least. His contact number is 03 95781610.
no wonder most of the people who have something worth while adding dont post any more. I used to believe this was a vendor finance / wraps forum. I guess titles can be decieving.
