I’ve been on holidays for the week, so haven’t been able to get near the www.
Tax Lawyers – yeah – ditto from what the others say. I hear David Abrahm (CPA – Adelaide) is good and understands what we are on about. E-mail me for details or look it up in the whitepages.
BTW – Seacombe Gardens – are your townhouses the ones on Seacombe Road?
just been thinking about your statement. I attended a presentaiton by Russell Woodrow a couple of weeks ago (http://www.woodrowandassociates.com/index.html). He mentioned that property and shares (ie most super funds) work in cylces. That is, when shares are down, property tends to head to up, etc etc.
I’ve sat down with him a couple of times. He listens to what your needs are – therefore no template solutions. Have a look at his website and read some of his articles.
usual disclaimers – I’m a client of his, so I’m not benefiting by writing this.
regards
Marco
PS – bearing all of the above in mind, a positively geared property should always be making money – regardless of cycles.
agree with your comments. I’ve been looking at contact management tools recently (as opposed to property management)
I’m looking for something that will help me manage my list of contacts but also allows me to attach files ie Letters and faxes that I send, and makes notes of telephone conversatione etc.
Act! is something that looks good, but it’s a bit pricey.
Yes there are Adelaide people here <grin>
I posted much the same question some time back and got stumped as well. It doesn’t surprise me that nobody answered. Probably the thing holding people back from answering your request is due to one of the following:
A) The size of Adelaide’s corporate sector. It’s small compared to the other capital cities, so people tend to keep their contacts close to their chest.
The cost involved in doing “Business” in Adelaide, compared to other states. Seems to me, if you want to put a decent contract together it’s close to a deposit on a house…
Tips – do a search on this forum. There are a number of people who recently swapped contact details for a meet here in Adelaide.
Alternatively, if you want to chat, feel free to contact me – [email protected]
Marco here, just doing my daily surf through the forum. My wife and I live in Adelaide with our 9mo son.
Been researching and setting things up for a little over 18mo and thoroughly enjoying it. I work for a company that helps people with their personal finances, budgeting etc. Very rewarding when you see the light come on in peoples eyes []
Always happy to help, although I do take a low profile for two reasons – the quality of the answers are wonderful and I just don’t spend that much time on the net.
Keep up the good work, hope to meet some of you in real life at some stage.
Are you aware of the legal intricacies in SA? You can’t do a straight vendor finance, so you probably need to get a contract drawn up for a Lease option.
South Coastal – a bit vague, more info?
Happy Valley – Hilly area with some newer developments. Good Public Transport, services etc.
Aberfoyle Park – as per Happy valley
Flagstaff Hill – Yeah ok, don’t know it personally, but it’s a bit further “down the hill”
Hallett Cove – Have looked at this area myself. The Local council is proposing a lot of work in this area. New main streets to interconnect this area with other suburbs etc. Even a retirement village! Currently not an area I would buy in as the services (delis etc) are few and not the nicest, but that is a subjective statement. Also the Public transport is not the best, but who know – all about to change??
These are my views, so subjective and in the eye of the beholder. Maybe try to contact a local agent to have a chat? Who knows….
It’s best that you find your own, build the relationship etc. However – one of the agents I have found to be very honest is Ray White, Brighton (SA). All the people at this office are good, however Leigh Lockwood is the person I deal with the most. His mobile number is 0414-880-887.
