    why is it so important to set up a company to invest as foreigner in the US?

    I'm looking to buy some property in Texas. I just talked to an investor who did that last year. He said he formed a company over there to be safe of any form of being sued. Is it essential to do that? Could I buy a property over there and use the LAC I have here in New Zealand? What is the best solution?
