Where is the the father of your stepdaughters child in all this???This baby bonus and welfare is doing just that. Look at all these low income earners having children to receive this grant. The government is breeding a generation of bludgers. After all that's the only way these children are going to know…turn to the government when its time to get a job.
Hi Shales,
I come from this generation and i just wanted to say that not all of us are the same. Im just about to turn 19, have saved over 30k with my partner in one year and i own all of my furniture, car etc. I moved out of home from the age of 16 to be closer to school, worked part time while doing my hsc and came out at the end with uai in the 90's. I have never turned to welfare, although its quite tempting. It gets on my nerve hearing about all these bludges. We apparently have one of the best systems in the world compared to countries like america who have to find a job within 8 weeks( i think).
Why is our generation so lazy? Can we blame the previous geneneration? Is it that money is so easy to get these days. Perhaps thats why the world is in such a state. I was brought up to believe that if you dont have the money to buy something then go without.
I hope i didnt go off the subject to much..I agree that the handouts wont help. Do people relise that they arnt free handouts. We will only have to pay the government debts back in the future through raised taxes etc.
Just wondering if gazumping is illegal these days? Has it ever happened to anyone?
Yes definately, my father is a plumber so thats a plus. Havnt asked for his advice yet, just gonna wait until the property settles and we will start makin plans then. Just tryin to get ahead before we move in.
Good luck with ur reno boshy!!this seems to be the only room that is troubling me at the moment. I think we might leave it till last. I will definately get some tradys in to do the plumbing and electrical work. Hopefully we can do as much as possible.
Thanks for ur adviceHi everybody,
My hubby has been working in the NSW mines for a couple of years as an underground fitter and loving it. He works a 3 twelve hour shifts of a weekend, and sometimes overtime during the week. Last financial year he made around $180k. I would say to those who are considering working in a mine go for it, but it isn't for everybody. It has given us alot of opportunitys and we are now thinking about buying an investment property. There are alot of risks involved in mining but in saying that you take chances everyday in driving a car or even just crossing the road.
It seems as though its quite hard for some to get into mines without experience, although my partner tells me all the time of new people coming without the slightest clue. My advice for those who are not experienced(clean skin) maybe try and get a job with a contractor first and work your way up from there. Also I've noticed alot of traineeships for truck drivers and machinery operating. One of my female friends scored a job as a trainee truck driver, she also loves it to and wouldn't go back. Im not a 100% sure on this but i dont think you even need a previous truck license to drive in the mines as they accredit you on site.
Good luck guys!!!
P.S If anyone would like to know of some contractors around here please let me know.Any other advice would be great.
