I dont live futher then 100k, its about 86 to uni :). The main reason i wanted a bit nicer car was because i’m working as a consultant for my dad at the moment, and have also started up my own webpage development business (haven’t done much yet), which focus’ on setting up online stores. So i want to put my web address on the car so want it to look nice. And i’ll be doing a lot of driving.
The car i had before wasn’t worth much, and insurance dind’t payout what it was worth.

Phil you sound like my rich auny and auncle. 2yrs ago i recieved a 10 in 1 handheld game, they must have found in the cubboard or in some op shop windows, as the boxs was all faded and had creases in it- it was roughy 4yrs old. I gave it back to the selvation army (with batteries)

Though i think he’s phliosphy is to keep buying McDonald stores, instead of heaps of ip’s.

I read sooooo many replys on the site from young people who have no idea or take seriously the importance of clearifying certainity.

another good book is “Awaken The Giant Within”[cap]

Thanks for the reply, but dont try to read someones post and think you know their position. Of course these aren’t my total goals (what is taking over the world ?) unlike others have posted but i felt more comfortable saying what i said then posting the 5page report that i wrote up about my self and clearly detailing my short term and long term goals and how i plan to ascertain them. A short term goal, nearly on completion is that of owning my first ip before my 19th in december. This ip is only for a grounding, and not a bad effort being first yr uni, and making all the money to support the property my self. I congradulate others that have attained their goals, as i will obtain mine to.

    cheers, good luck everyone.

hi all, i think i have a modest goal – to take over the world. [biggrin]
But seriously i wish to have more money and power then anyone not only to serve my own purposes but to be able to give most of it away to ppl who can’t create wealth. I’m only 18 so have a long way before i reach a big milestone in that journey. And if i fall a little short of that goal, i’d be happy ;).

Hi, we have an ANZ at uni, so i’ll go ask there tomorrow, but do you think you would still be able to get a student loan if it is a joint loan and the other person is not a student. I suppose i’ll find out. thanks for that idea.

hi kangaroova, i dont want to seem rude or crude, or anything like that, but i dont get it.. Is this just for indigenous people [confused2]and why do you say a way of ensuring more indigenous people can own their own homes, sure that is a great thing, but shouldn’t it be a way for ensuring more people, everybody and anybody can own their own home. I suppose what i dont get is the segregating, i’m just totally [confused2].
please dont flame, i just dont get it.

hi all, just thought i would contribute, as i am also 18yrs of age. Also’emcdonald’ tell your parents to read “Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ or read it your self its a great book and then you can explain to them about the rat race.
I have just written up a 3page plan for the next 5yrs, its good idea i believe, so if you are serious as i am you should do the same as well. I went and saw the bank 2days ago and to be honest she was a bitch when i said i earnt 12k a year and then didn’t really want to talk to me. But as i persued the convosation with the lender, for merely for information sake as i intended to use a NZ bank anyway, i let her know that i was able to get a garanteer on the loan that i was applying for, which then made it okay.
You can borrow money, if you have someone to back you up, like your parents, as you can’t use an overseas property as security, thats if you get a loan in australia, so i was told.
I am actually going in with my sister in the next couple of weeks, as she has a full time job, and together we have enough for a deposit for 2 places.
The plan in short is, buy those 2 property with her, and then save for another property for my self and use the first 2 as security….. in the end i take over ther world, nah j/k but i’m hoping have enough +cf to generate deposits for other places in the next 5yrs, whilist i still study (Robotic engineering / computer science). I wish to jsut merely use property as solid grounding, but my passion is to be a share guru.
good luck slodki, no doubt you are way ahead of all your friends, as i know none of mine have the same mindset, so heres for a positive future for us youngings (i figure 18 was a good time to start, cause i like the idea of compound interest)[grad]

Thanks Kay, yeh i have never really thought of only looking for investments in my own town, knowing well i would be hitting my head against a brick wall in melbourne. Being 18/young doesn’t help as much as i have to study a lot and travelling would be to costly, but hopefully a site unseen will be the solution.

    Thanks all, jarred.

Thanks for all the replys, i’ve shined away from the appartment/s for the moment and for a first property i think a residential place will be best. Currently waiting for some info to be sent back to me on 3 NZ properties, for 50k each, supposibly returning about 125 a week each. Anything major i should look out for there ?

BTW, The appartment is on williams st in melbourne, looks over the yarra and crown.

    Regard’s Jarred.
