    nswren and Steven,

Your second option can work if you have your name as the owner but both yours and your Fathers on the debt. This way you are eligible for the FHOG as well. I did this with my partner and worked a treat, and is legal.

    good luck!

The polar bear is out for a drive when he experiences engine trouble. While the mechanic is taking a look, he buys an ice cream and, being a big awkward bear, gets it all over his face. Mechanic comes out and says, mate, you’ve blown a seal. The bear quickly says back, no, no, its ice cream.

Thank you, you’ve been a great audience!!

If the question is can everybody be rich at the same time, I agree with Michael 100%.

If the question is more along the lines of does everyone have the capacity to be rich, I feel the answer is yes. The Richest Man in Babylon quotes somewhere that “Where the determination is, a way can be found”. (Just reading it!) Not everyone has this…[Read more]

You are a glutton for punishment, that would be a bugger of a job!!

Terracotta is quite porous when old and worn so is going to soak in a fair bit. My only tip is if you are going to do it, hose it down a while beforehand so the tiles don’t soak the paint as much!

    Good luck!!

    Hi FW,

Can definitely understand the point. Must say it makes life difficult when a Suburban pulls up next to you at the intersection. Only hope is if they are big enough that you can look underneath!

I drive a 4WD because I do alot of camping, however also add that I like the visibility for the reasons you mentioned.

But if the seals are the bankers you would require a seal of approval! Sorry

So, if you make improvements to the cave, air-con perhaps, what increase in rent do you ask for? Sardines or Tuna?

Will the extensions to the Shopping Centre assist price wise? From what I understand, it should be complete early next year!

Is a really unfortunate name for a suburb, but I assume the translation means something very different to the way it sounds!! Is a good suburb and worth holding if possible!

Thanks FW, glad to get a reaction!!! Why do you hate them? Is it due to the test results with respect to potential damage it can cause pedestrians in accidents or along the lines of urban cowboys who don’t use them for their intended purpose?

  • jhopper replied to the topic Cheap coco palms? in the forum Help Needed! 19 years, 11 months ago

Just another thought to help with cost saving, the local transfer stations have free mulch. Have to pick up yourself but is the cheapest way I know of dressing up the garden. The mulch is not as good as from the garden centres but hey, for nothing I’m not complaining!

    Hey Wayne,

Why are you so keen on palms out of curiosity? Are you going for the Bali theme backyard? If not, why not consider a more native garden and use things like grasses, grevillea’s, etc??

Good for Perth for the water restrictions as well!!

    Just my 2 cents!!

  • jhopper replied to the topic What is a sleepout? in the forum Help Needed! 19 years, 11 months ago

Could be wrong, but I always thought a sleepout was an enclosed verandah such as the Queenslander style houses which have the wrap arounds but enclosed at the side.

    Mad-Cat,

If what you are proposing is avoiding the Council zoning issue and building two houses on the block anyway, I would be very wary. Firstly, you can be ordered to pull down the non-compliant buildings if Council find out (very costly!!). Secondly, when you do eventually go to sell, council docs will reflect that it wasn’t approved and…[Read more]

    Hey Wayne,

Have been doing up ourt garden and found a good nursery out at Cannington called “Trees-A-Green”. Kind of the WA Salvage of the nursery world although they would probably cringe if they heard that!

I live North of the river as well so can be a trek but is good value. Otherwise you can try the nurseries out Wannaroo way but tend to…[Read more]
