Hi All
Very interesting topic….. i guess I am more in line with Wealth4life.
Success is measured in many varied ways and for some:1.It is the gathering of as many assets before retiring as they can.
2. To others it is not the assets but what they can provide for you to do that you thought was beyond your dreams.
3. To others it is about being able to say YES i will go to dinner, Yes i would love to go to that show etc..without counting pennies.
4. To some in retirement ..it is not being a burden on your families or society … just being able to provide the basics for yourself.
5. To others money / assets are nothing – it is health, loving relationships etc which light their world.
Wealth4life is very accurate it is “your own idea of success” that is important and everyone no matter where they are at if they feel they have been a success then that is all that matters.
For me I am rich in success in many areas of my life and now I am about to tack;le the hardest path but so long as I reach MY targets then I will judge myself successful.
PS had not posted on the forum at all until today… now I am off and

Hi Guys
Thank you for your replies. I am based in SYD.
Currently I have a basic home home loan with Members Equity.
I will probably look at approaching them direct. As i have never done this before I was wondering if any of the regular MB know of any great LOC products with good interest only rates.
I basically understand how they work just need to really discuss what I want to do with a finance savvy person.
Thks muchly [biggrin]
Hi
Just a thought…. what if the house is owned tenants in common not as joint tenants and the tenants in common just happen to be married????[blink]

I bought my first IP when I was 19 (and living at home – thanks Mum[biggrin]). I had saved for three years while a lot of my mates were blowing their wages. I didn’t go without, but I saved religiously and managed a 30% deposit on an old villa converted to two flats for $30,000 (1981).
Did some renovating and sprucing up and rented for $150…….Hi Fern,
Great to see you had the foresight. I just came from a non investment non business type family. I am going to work hard now so that not only will I hopefully improve my “retirement” but that I will leave my girls with a much better education on investment strategies so there pattern is more like yours than mine.
But I am still grateful for every clear free living breath I take as a woman and free human being in this great country.

Hi Guys
I did heaps when i was younger, married late, had the kids I didn’t think i would have and will probably work until I am 65 as I will be raising the kids till then.
This is unless the new mindset and learning curve i am on takes off ( It Will I Am Here Writing )and the govt keeps its hands off what we gain by investing.
But truly if I go tomorrow I can honestly say I have lived in a great country, enjoyed adventures and experiences many never get to retirement to do so we are all different.
Enjoy today, even your Yuk job as you could have been a 10yr old in India carting stones from dawn to dusk and they consider themselves lucky to have the job!!!!
Love the chats[biggrin]
Hi Guys
yes we could say that Mr Carr might have known what was comimg 12 months ago….BUT I think you would have a hard time proving it, unless someone had copies of labour party internal memos that could possibly say he knew or it had been proposed.
Certainly room for the Question though.
