Thanks Scott and Cathy. Yes, I’ve got insurance, so that is an option I can look into with the neighbour.
Currently the situation is an on-site meeting early next week with the demolition guy and the surveyor who is managing (!) the project for us. I hope the demo guy doesn’t bring his big machine back! I don’t hold out much hope of negotiating much my favour, but we will see. Another of those learning experiences I guess. I’ll let you know how it pans out.At least it has stopped raining here for the moment.

Hi,
Yes I was there too yesterday at the Masterclass.
Did you decide to go in the end? If you did, I hope you did find it worth while. I have been to a number of property seminars run by different people and for different amounts of money. Yesterday in my books was definitely value for money. Yes, a lot of the information isn’t always new, but I always find it interesting to get another person’s perspective. For me it’s also about keeping in touch with other property investors and finding out what they are doing. I met a lot of great people and I guess no two people are doing things exactly the same.
I got some answers yesterday to some problems I had being having in investing, and part of the answer came from doing a bit of self analysis, which while a bit uncomfortable, can make all the difference to moving forward or staying stuck.
If Steve ever changes his mind and repeats another Masterclass in Perth again, I would repeat it, as I think you learn new things each time. Then it is up to the individual to actually go and put them into practice.Cheers,

Hi, I’m new to the forum, just doing my homework as suggested by Steve at the Perth Masterclass held yesterday (which was great by the way!).
If you want/need to purchase in a certain area then just keep going. It’s all about due diligence, viewing, making offers and not giving up.Persevere, persevere, persevere and you will succeed.
Good luck.Jenny

Hi,
I’m in WA but I’m sure the principle would be the same In Queensland. I’m just starting my first sub-division and yes it is important to know what each individual Council will or won’t approve and to get this information before you submit your application. I didn’t have any problem with my application, but it still took 3 months to get approved ! Why? Because this Council have a reputation for just being very slow. I helped having that knowledge as well! Good luck. All the best
