The problem with property and investing can be that there is too much information not the lack of it. The "free" advice from "experts" should be viewed case by case. I agree. The Buyers' Agents fee is capitalised and not depreciable but form part of the cost base of the property. Will be added to your purchase cost at a time of future sale to work out CGT ( as mentioned above ) If you would like a' cheat sheet ' of what expenses are deductible to property investors just let me know.

I agree. Any Buyers' Agent must have a portfolio of their own to show that they are passionate about investing, enjoy helping people invest and not just doing it for a salary.
