I cannot physically go there but I can research anything you like. It would be easier if you give me an example of what information you are after.

    Cheers

I do know that if you are moving more than one property in joint names into a sinlge name or trust you only pay stamp duty on the difference of the valued price of both. i.e 1 property is $150,000 the other $120,000 you only pay SD on $30,000. You said individual names so I am assuming this means joint. If not sorry can’t help.

    Hi Pete & Jackie,

The one thing I forgot to mention is AIRCON!! Even if 1 room does not have it but the house has Breezeair it is not acceptable to mining companies and will cause delays in you renting your property. (Advise on experience it so happens!) Trades people service the area every 2 to 3 weeks so keep that in mind. I would put it to the RE agent who is selling you the property to find a tennant (ie mining company) as a condition on the sale, not a bad clause looking back as the community is tight and pressure on to get the sale as they all know someone in the mines.

    WAZL,

Come a few weeks I have plenty of TIME on my hands and may be able to assist you in your search while I am doing mine. Post me a private reply if you are interested.

If this is the last investment you can do in 2 years, letorlone save for another investment past that, what are your goals?? Sounds like you are either spending your savings or planning to go back to work in the near future..

    Shelley,

It would be worth while finding out why your tenant is behind. An opportunity may then present itself to you. These may be excellent tenants who have an unusual situation whereby you can assist, then you may have a loyal tennant for years to come.

    Jon,
My business partner and I currently have an IP in Moranbah. I have been there several times and the town is supported by various mines. What exactly would you like to know?
