Look, all the info passed on by others so far is all good. I got into real estate 2 years ago, and am now on an amazing journey. The best piece of advice, apart from reading and attending seminars, is FIND YOURSELF A MENTOR! Find someone who has been there, done it, and stick to them like glue. They are amazing people, and like Steve, most of them love sharing their knowledge.
I have just come back from 6 amazing months in the USA, and am heading back there in Jan, with my mentor.

Don’t know if you’ve sorted your US account problem, but I have just opened an account with Wells Fargo in Las Vegas.
I was in Louisiana at the time> Did not need to go to the bank, everything was done with 3 phones calls and 2 lots of faxing.
I have internet access, and my visa debit card arrived in 10 days.

I’m in the US doing it right now. If you want to learn all about it, look up a guy by the name of Gene Burns. He made his money on pre-foreclosures, and has a book and cds all about it.
