Gough Whiltlam actually said “maintain the rage and enthusiasm”, but the people did neither, as will happen with this issue.
I understand people taking change to the tax rules badly. I wonder ,though, why so much energy is placed into railing against what is (to be) a fact. I have found that if I am saying things like “Should be’s” and “it’s not…[Read more]

Thanks for the reply, had to ask (now I won’t die wondering)
The prices in this area would make repayments in the 800-1k a week range which is a leeeeeeeeeeeetle out of my price bracket.

Hills district hey? I have to live in the Hills District and would rather not be renting.[blush2] Not thinking of wrapping it are you? Selling cause the house is too small or just to get closer to Sydney?
Gramyre replied to the topic Tonight 8pm on ABC: Rick Otton in the forum General Property 20 years, 7 months ago
I don’t know. There is enough working class upbringing in me to distrust the glitz and glamour of someone selling something. He (Rick Otton) seemed uncomfortable about adopting the trappings of wealth at the beginning, and fed up with the seminar scene at the end. But isn’t a “lucrative hobby” (as he described his wrapping business) still…[Read more]

Thanks Geo…I am lucky that my second job happens to be one of the best jobs in the world (Computer Game Reviewer) and writing a catchy headline is almost a hobby now.
Start, I appreciate the recommendation and will look for it at my library this week.
Sort of off topic, I was told by a friend that many of the Rich Dad titles (and other…[Read more]

Thanks Elves for your encouraging reply [biggrin].
I have enthusiasm in bucketloads and I really know where I want to go…I mean I can see the destination but not the road to get there (which is where the fear of sharks comes in).
I guess if practical suggestions are scarce in these forums I need to find a source for stories that involve people…[Read more]

Gramyre replied to the topic Who is Spruiker No. 5? in the forum Heads Up! 20 years, 7 months ago
It certainly not the same as I read yesterday. I thought there was a mention of spruiker # 5 being afraid of being found out and asking for help in how to explain it (and although I don’t remember the actual word “lying” that was the impression I got). Now I have gone back it won’t be in my temporary internet files, maybe someone who was there…[Read more]

I am still not sure what your post means. The article about the Tasmanian Tiger is clearly an April Fools Day joke. The pledging of funds using the article as a basis of fact is a weird way of raising money and one I won’t be participating in. I am still not sure if you are just having a bit of a joke or someone is scamming you (sorry but that’s…[Read more]

Sounds like you want to and that they are worthy in your eyes…so why not? It’s a long way to Christmas and the $20 odd you spend will probably buy 10x that in good will.
At Christmas I received a card in the mail from the Indian restaurant I occassionally get home delivery from. That $1 card (+ 50c postage) has made that restaurant about 3x as…[Read more]

Sometimes renting is unavoidable due to personal reasons. I have to live in this area so my children are close to their father (we share custody week on/week off) and they have a secure school life because of it as well. It means I pay $340 a week for a house that I would not be able to buy (I’s say minimum $450,000 value). Sure it means that a…[Read more]

This may be from a virus email to someone else pretending to be you, that person no longer exists at that address or whaever, so you get the return email.Ensure your virus checkers…[Read more]

It is funny how when you are heading into your late thirties with an incureable (but not yet debilitating) disease that you start thinking about the end of working for someone else.
I have a dream! And by golly I am going to make it work. Gone is the “woe is me attitude” that…[Read more]
