    LH, would you then say that investing interstate can help you keep a check on the land tax costs.

    Thanks for your comments "Scott no mates" and "Matt007". 

    My comments were in regards to a statement in BRW which said that there were 81 resources project – Mining projects, Coal mining, Gas plants et al – approved in 2010 and 143 more in the pipeline.

    Following that comment I looked up on Dept of Infrastructure however it didnt state any private resource projects that have been approved or in pipeline.

    Am I missing something here?

    The Stamp duty for IP is marginally more than PPORs.

    Hi Jlia,

    I am a newbie in this area as well and I must say I ended up using a bit of equity from my PPOR and savings to generate the deposit for my 2nd property.

    I am in the same boat as you now, as I dont have enough funds to go for the next property.

    Are there are any other ways to generate deposits ?
