    Lisa,
If you go to another meeting, all you will have lost is about an hour and a half of your time.
    Cheers

    Nice one Patrick!
In regards to credit cards I only use it for all property related bills (rates, etc) and life expenses such as petrol, food etc and pay it off at the end of the interest free period. Repairs for property I pay cash as I get a much less expensive bill from friends as a result. Also I use the card for booking theatre tickets or ordering stuff interstate as it’s obviously quicker and I just think of the frequent flyer points. Basically with cash and buying something for myself, I ask myself do I want it or do I nedd it?
    Cheers,
    Gatsby.

I have no personal experience as such with network marketing. I think the real value though if I ever considered entering such a system would be ‘work to learn, don’t work for money’. I imagine the real value from network marketing are the skills that you can develop for yourself that you can later transfer to other areas (such as investment property, etc). I know people who enter such ventures with this thought solely in mind and have become more confident in areas such as public speaking, learning how to sell, dealing with rejection, etc. However I doubt if you already feel you have these skills that the ‘searching for a contact’, which usually means friends and family is worth it. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!

    Hi Simon,
I would love to help however I’m not a morning person (it’s currently 12.45am!) and live in Forest Hill and will probably be going out after the conference. Sorry I can’t help but I’m sure someone must live up the Dandenongs or further?

    Hi Kay,
I’m aware of Naomi Klein but I can’t claim to have read any of her stuff cover to cover. Indy films are my passion. I saw 9/11 2 weeks ago at a premiere launch. I prefer to see a director, producer, writer of a film that I like before it’s release/review so I can make up my own mind of how I score it. The bottom line in a film to me has to be the ‘narrative’, Without that you can’t make butter without a toothpick!
    Cheers

Hi Kay et al, Firstly ‘Lost in Translation’. I saw it 3 times. Post or pm back to me anyone who is an art house lover, why I felt so strongly about this production. Today ‘F9/11’ grossed the most in OZ for a doco ever (that still hasn’t been generally released yet!!). Kay, both ‘Bowling’ and ‘9/11’ have the recurring theme/truth in America (and here). Keep people stupid and in a constant state of fear and people will do and follow the most injust atrocities. A few years ago a guy in America was jailed for burning the American flag. Personally, I hate patriosm. The last time I looked, it was a round world???? One guy said ‘My dad died in the last war for that flag! People acted as if the Supreme Court approved of flag burning. They didn’t say that. “Does that mean we have to burn our flags?………..NO! They said that if perhaps somebody wants to burn the flag, he or she doesn’t have to go to jail for a YEAR! Pretty harsh on their behalf. “Listen, read, calm down, shut the f*&ck up!” “Well I don’t get it, I don’t want to burn my flag?” “THEN DON’T”!! People actually snapped over this.
“Hey listen Gatsby, my dad died for that flag”
“Really, well I bought mine, you know they sell them at Ozzy Disposals?”
“Yeah Gats, My dad died in the Vietnam war for that flag”
“Well what a coincidence, mine was made in Vietnam! Well, the world is that small!”
No one has ever died for a flag. A flag is a piece of cloth. They may have died for ‘freedom’ which, by the way, is the freedom to burn a flag?
    Cheers,
    Gatsby!

Speaking of ‘addictions’, Keith Richards out lived Jim Fix, the running jogging health nut of the 80’s. Fix used to write books about jogging. What do you write about jogging. ‘Left foot, right foot, faster, faster, go home, shower! “Thanks Jim for putting that literary mind to the problem, but I know how to jog/bench press, being the biped that I am”. Then this guy goes out and has a ‘heart attack while ‘jogging’! “Right foot, left foot, blood spurts out nose!” “What is this right foot, left foot?…….Are you having troubles at home Jim??” Keith Richards is shooting heroin into his eyeball and still touring! I’m getting mixed signals! I picture nuclear war and 2 things surviving. “Keith Richards and cockroaches”!
Keith: “Where did everybody go? I saw a bright light and thought we were on?”

Speaking of addiction it could be all so much easier if the government went ahead and opened a safe ‘investing’ room to get our fix! Instead of relying on our ‘dealers’ to supply our habit!

GUILTY! However due to work I don’t have any withdrawal symptoms damn it!! The main guilt (for want of a better word) is that I should spend more time getting out there (or on here) doing the leg work and being more active in chasing these elusive properties. However, the support of great people on this site (they know who they are) always add to the fire in the belly anyway.
    Cheers Gatsby!

    Hi WallFlower,
It’s not a ‘video flic’. It was released in America a few weeks ago and has grossed the most ‘ever in US history’ for a documentary. It wasn’t even released generally (ie, Hoyts, Village type outlets, etc). I think it will have a big impact on G.W. Bushs’ election outcome. I won’t swallow all of it but it is definetely worth a taste. I have no idea how Moore got access to some of the Iraq footage and early documents on bush?

    Hi all,
Speaking of movies. Today I saw Michael Moore’s ‘Farenheit 9/11’. If anyone else has seen it, I’d be interested in your feedback on how the doco was portrayed and your feedback on it?

    Hi Mumarina,
From my experience with brokers, I’ve discovered that the broker you choose who has ‘your’ immediate and long term interests at heart can far outway things that may appear cheaper on paper. A great broker will almost certainly cost you less in the long run (and certianly anyway in the short run) both financially and strategically with your goals.
Best of luck and shop around.
    Regards,
    Gatsby!
