    Hi Resi,
I’m glad you thought it was a good post but I think your questions IMHO miss the point. Suicide is a mental health issue, not a ‘rental wealth issue’. Rene’s controversial suicide was only in the media due to his wealth. What about the rest?

What about real life court room dramas?
I lost my driver’s licence in 1990 for drink driving (not proud of it and I’m not promoting it).
“Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?”
“I do”, I replied. “I think you’re ugly. See that girl over there? I’d really love to bang her. Do I keep going or are you going to ask me some questions?”
“Mr Gatsby, how do you plead?”
    I pleaded “insane”.
I said “Your Honour, why would anyone want to park in the overtaking lane?”
When the cops came up to me and asked “Are you the owner of this vehicle?” I said “Well it’s an automatic, but I’ve still got to be here.”
    Cheers,

Sounds like 2 bird-doggers fighting over the one bird! Darrynp’s looking for advice and the more constructive the better I think. Highlighting the skills and necessary time involved will better serve to answer Darrynp’s initial question. I think a bird-dogger’s reputation will inevitably speak for itself. I just thought it was detracting from someones initial genuine enquiry to what is actually involved in bird-dogging.

    What about,
‘Sexual Secrets of The Rich (Learn The 7 Steps To Sexual Freedom!).’
‘Rich Dad, Impotent Dad (What the Rich Teach Their Kids That The Impotent Class Do Not!)’
Also a lot of the ‘Newbies’ do ask very intelligent questions/post very articulated replies. Stars against an avatar mean nothing. Hell, look at mine!

I think it might be of benefit to some to remember that Steve has provided this website for free? If you beg to differ with it, then feel ‘free’ to sit back, be young and confused and watch ‘Ray Martin’ which is also free! (Oh my God! I do have a choice!).

    Hi Adam,
I agree with all the above and especially with Terry re: getting professional advice. At the risk of sounding cynical you are as has been stated in a fantastic position. Make sure you have all your bases covered both legally and long term. I hope you and your partner are both on the same path in wealth creation. Best of luck.

    Dear Badgers,
We already see this in reality tv shows. Not the current run of the mill ‘house wives’ or ‘survivor’, etc but the doco types like the ones like ‘cops’. You know the one’s I’m talking about how you watch a video hot pursuit chase where the police (usually an English cop car) using high tech surveillance cameras chase a criminal car speeding along on the wrong side of the highway, driving through hedges! The crims then jump out and are caught on infra red tracking video as they ditch the car and hide in a bush until the cops are pinpointed to them and cuff em’.
Better yet, how about a weekly show called ‘ATO!’
Each week, the ATO has a special celebrity guest. “This week it’s Henry Kaye on ATO!” “Ding Dong!” ” Who’s that, what do you want?” “The rings on your F@#%ING fingers!!!!”
“See you all next week when we go down to Melbourne to see John Elliot on ‘ATO!!”
    Cheers,

Thanks for your reply Terry. As forming part of the capital base can they then be claimed as depreciation and if so at what rate?

    Hi supachef,
I’m by no means an expert and you will receive much more experienced replies than this one. I guess it depends on many factors. Are you on a massive salary where you can at the very least get some tax back? Do you intend to purchase multiple properties and if so, perhaps selling might be an option to free yourself up for better opportunities in the current market. $800 a month for 5 years is a lot of money that could be put to better use in the mean time. Just my thoughts. Perhaps cut your losses and let your profits run?

    Hi all,
Who’s up for another meeting? 18th May will be a month since our last meeting. If this time suits people (or not) feel free to add a reply so we can organise a date, time and perhaps a topic such as ‘trusts’, etc that was mentioned at the last meeting. Looking forward to hearing from others.
    Kind regards,
    Gatsby!

I don’t know Rob but I broke up with my ‘extremely New Age’ girlfriend on Saturday night after being together for the past 3 months. I think I must have been an earth sign because she told me she was a water sign. Together, we just made ‘MUD’!

    Rob,
Ditto! I have 2 friends who suffer from bipolar. One from school and one person who I work with. That is the mania (manic) side of the disorder. Not everyone experiences both the extreme highs or lows. The friend who I grew up with is one of the most intelligent and creative people I know. However, I have witnessed first hand one major manic episode that developed over a 3 month period. He applied for executive jobs everyday towards the final stages before he crashed (and ironically got 2 of the positions!), spent all his credit cards on crap, believed he was invincible, etc. I asked him what does it feel like, why don’t you go back to taking your Lithium when you know you start feeling this way? His reply was fairly obvious. He said ‘What do you think if you started to feel that great..?

    fjficm,
I can’t believe you could make a statement about someone who would feel the need to take their own life! When I read that, as an athiest I’m in danger of becoming a christian! I think this thread is blurring the division between a mental illness (bipolar disorder) and the illegal actions of an individual. I agree that one is not responsible for their disability, yet accept that they are responsible for their life (choices in business).

    Hi Rob,
There was an excellent documentary on the ABC a few months ago that interviewed his wife and son. Rene refused to take part, but it highlighted the toll his bipolar disorder had taken not only upon himself, but also his family. ABC may replay it now after this tragedy.
    Regards,
    Gatsby.
