There is nothing on their website about the home study course. We attended their 3 hour Perth one. Was very inspiring. If we lived in South East Qld we would definitely have gone to their Gold Coast 3 day seminar. Just wasn’t practical from here as you lose so many days with flying time and stuff like that. We would be interested in the home study course tho. Might email them and ask for details. Thanks for your post.

We didn’t go on Sunday’s ride. Did the Perth xmas charity toy run on Saturday with 7,000 other bikes. Got the Mandurah one this Saturday. Lotsa fun and a worthy cause.

Great site Swampy. Thanks for that. Just used the info on that site to put in an offer of $420K on a property that is advertised for $560K. Yeah, I know, they will definitely laugh at us, but according to that site, units in that area have dropped by 5% over the past year. Kinda fun to throw the facts in their face.

I couldn’t open the link. Wasn’t very impressed with Mr Reeds website tho when the very first thing you see on the page is a gif to advise you that he accepts visa or mastercard. Not very subtle!! BTW I couldn’t find the article even from his home page.
One of the reasons CDs are so expensive is because they factor into the price the fact that some tight ass will try to illegally copy them as your mate did. Actions like his bump the price up for everyone. Joint ownership between you and your mate is not illegal. Copying it is. And you made the purchase with the intention of copying it. The CD in your possession is illegal and as such you could be charged with a copyright infringement. Don’t take my word for it. Ask any lawyer or even a police officer.

We are going to go to the Goldwing AGM in Cooma 3 weeks after the Ulyssian one. Popping up to Qld in between to inspect one of our properties. So will be doing around 14,000km in 5 weeks. Not taking my bike (a Sporty 883). I am gonna just sit back and watch the scenery on this trip.
I am the editor of our local Ulysses club newsletter. Let me know if you want to put an ad in for the Goldwing. Most of the guys in the wingdings over here bought their bikes sight unseen from the Eastern states and had them crated across as it is so much cheaper than buying them here.

one of my properties was a leaseback by the vendors. Sounds perfect solution. No need to worry about scratched paint as the sellers move out and new tennants move in. No leasing fee. No vacancy rate. Every landlords dream.
My nightmare. They signed a 6 month lease. They stayed about 10 weeks. Stopped paying rent. Vacated the property. Left a full skip bin on the property. The owners of the bin tipped the contents upside down in my driveway as the tennants had not paid for the bin removal and couldn’t be located. Tennants filled the recycle bin with non-recyclable garbage which the garbos refused to take. The place stunk of urine – not sure whether it was the dog or the kids. The place was filthy. The garden was dying. etc etc.
Thankfully I had income protection insurance and a property manager. The property manager took it to court (uncontested.) And the insurance company paid up. Would I be bothered being my own property manager? No. Was this IP miles away? About 5km and I almost went past it each day on my way to work.

If we both claim, does that limit the tax advantages we can also claim for the properties? Depreciation. Interest etc. Both will be cashflow positive so we would like to offset some of the income with tax claims.
