    Hi Leila,
I have found that if I paint the rooms different colours (soft) it makes for great interest. I also like some oiled floorboards. A good letter box with easy to read numbers is a must. After all, when you buy a house you want your friends to find you.

    Hi Walter
Thanks for your reply, I guess the hard part is working out the max rent one can get for the IP.
If you charge a bit more than the market value do
    you get a better tenant

    Hi Purplekiss,
Thats what I was thinking, As you get older you don’t want to be doing reno’s, maybe it’s just a matter of finding a good Property Manager to control the rentals. Thanks for your reply.

    Hi Mark and Dan
Yes, I’m ok with reno’s, I know a few things, I have spent the last 4 years owner building a 480 sq mt house Queenlander style and clearing and fencing the 25 acres around it. Total investment around $5ook and now valued at $1.255.000. That is why I would like to do reno’s but wondered if I should have some rentals as well

    Hi Jules
As a major reno make sure you do all the sums and then add extras in, I always allow 20% extra as you always run into hassles. Building and pest inspections a must. Good luck and do your sums.

    Hi Jules,
I have done reno’s in the past, can you tell what type of reno it is? If minor you wont need to talk to council at all. If major do all your sums as often it’s not worth it.I like minor reno’s and like to turn them over. If you can give me more info I can give you more help
