hi samuri,
in addition to the comments above you could try “Successful Trust Management”by Ross Holmes. He is a solicitor that has published widely on the subject. Good luck with it all.
P.S That book has a fair bit of practical advice and examples so it may answers some of your questions. Then when you seek professional legal advice you will be…[Read more]

Thanks for the link guys. Good to see some hard numbers floating around the forum. Where we are in Southland at the moment there has definitely been a correction. Which has meant there are quite a few more cahsflow opportunities around at the moment. Lower end properties with maintenance issues are not moving at all. The better stock is moving…[Read more]

Hi Padma,
That is something I had not even thought of. What can you buy for Rs.35. Do you need a visa? Well you wouldn’t I suppose but what about people who only have an aussie passport.

Well done Dazzling. Good luck with the rest of the project. As to the fittings. It would be pretty hard for either party to assert ownership in the absence of an agreement. Would need to aduce evidence from the previous owner and contractors etc. Very expensive and risky. Sounds like your wife is doing a good job anyway.

If you pay into your home loan and withdraw for investment, the net interest will be the same, but the interest will now be tax deductible.
Got to agree with Terry. This is the way we have done it in the past.
Good Luck

Hi Lee,
The materials for this job would probably be around $600 – $800. However, it is impossible to say what is fair without seeing the job.
I would suggest you get a few more quotes and let the market tell you the going rate. Can you do it yourself? What is the opportunity cost to you?

So i need help to further understand what the implications of a US dollar increase will have, and so i can better explain this to her dad. He’s not really the investing type.
if he is not the investing type then I would not try and involve him in a foreign property deal. That’s just my opinion. Perhaps you could seek other private finance or try…[Read more]

well at least we are not owner of the property I heard about today. Vendor buys a tenanted property. One week later tenants gone and kitchen cupboard and oven full of used nappies. Cleaning up a bit of mess is nothing but thats a bit much.
