Big thanks for all your help guys.  I spoke to fair trading and they told me to go tribunal and ask max compensation, but then another person from fair trading told me you can't sue for more than whats been paid ie management fees.  A friend who works in real estate actually told me his office got sued and lost because they started their emails with "Dear tenant" and "Hello tenant" so they had to change to "Att:" instead.
