If you live in Sydney, you would be familiar with the problem. The nests are everywhere. Provided you take reasonable precautions and inspect regularly, you won’t have a problem.[:X]

Don’t knock parking spaces. I bought 2 in the Sydney CBD in 1975 for $5,000.00 each

    Hi Bill,
I’m in Sydney but have looked extensively throughout the state.
    Xyzzy,
Your question does not have a simple answer. The quality of the improvements, and consequently the cost, depends on the market at which you are aiming. the land size will depend on local guidelines.
    Regards to both of you.

The prospect of fees for no risk, or deals handed out on a platter certainly opened Pandora’s Box!

vacancy rates are only indicative of an area. The vacant properties are usually the ones that are overpriced or of the lower quality. Stay outside of these parameters and you should not have a vacancy problem.[^]

Dan, You will need a letter of permission to lodge from the registered proprietor.

Kenny, it’s reassuring to get other opinions, but in the long run it’s your decision. You can’t buy that expertise. Accountants and solicitors have biased opinions, it’s your guts that counts.[:)]

Entelechy, In my opinion, before buying you need to be an expert in the area, and you can’t be an expert everywhere. You can’t pick a winning horse with a pin.[8)]

In years past I have bought quite a lot of property, but never sight unseen.
In my opinion you need to develop a feel for the area and then visit prior to buying. it’s possible to eliminate many properties just from arms length research. If something looks really good, surely the airfare (or other transport) should not be a deterent.[:)]

Can’t help you Kirby, but surely a Darwin or Perth QS would be familiar with the locality

Thanks M for the reply. I think SA and also Tas and NZ may have potential.
