Yes Richard, I wish I knew about this awesome forum earlier. But I'm glad I found it; better later than never :)

How did you find Canada? Property-wise, is it much different than Australia?

We don't offer that level of service to every client lol

Lol. Good to know that level of service exists, though.

I'm very thankful to all of you who answered, Jacqui, Richard and Jamie. I was concerned I would have to take long trips to have all that sorted out.

    Happy New Year!

That's a lot of great information, thank you Richard and Jamie.

So, then it means the whole buying process, from mortgage application to closing can be done from outside the country, right?

Would it be more advisable to be present for some of the stages, though?

Thanks a lot for the help, Richard. Yes, I find the forum and the people here great.

I think I could read about it, but my situation is not that common, that's why I'm asking here. Do I need to be physically in Australia when applying for the mortgage? How long would the approval process normally take in a situation like mine?

    Cheers,

    Can D

    Hi all,

What would be the best method to use, to look for the house that fits your bill (internet, what else)? How do you find which areas are to be avoided, if you're not from the area?

Also, which are the steps of the buying process that you can do alone, and where would you need to hire help? I'm interested in the Brisbane area, but I guess it's the same anywhere.

Thanks in advance for any opinion.
