Hi Colin,
So WA does show this detail, eh – thanks for that.
I wonder who can answer for other states – maybe it is only the banana-benders who get it wrong? :(

Hi Wan,
Keep in mind Richard’s earlier comment:-
I think you are confused as there is very little difference between lenders when it comes to servicing post Royal Commission.
I noted that English may not be your first language, and that the wording above uses an old word “post” which means “since” or “after”, so reread Richard’s words like…[Read more]

I would love to hear your thoughts on a topic I’ve been pondering – “How much would interest rates have to rise before we begin to see massive defaulting?”
Today, with bank interest rates around 3.5%pa, and with loan amounts being borrowed having screamed upward as prices have increased (and are currently still increasing), what kind of rate…[Read more]

Thanks Steven and Steve,
I’d long been confused how Sydney could be reported as having a $1.3m as highest median by one company (a few years back now) while others report other lower values as being the highest. ABS shows $1.05m as being the highest THEY have ever recorded in Sydney (Jun 2017). Steve, perhaps your comment here serves me best r…[Read more]

Median house prices – are they useful , or even believable? Maybe it is the flood of differing results that confuses me most.
What about you though – do you use them? And how do you make them work for you?

Are these values useful, or simply a distraction?

I think this story is a deception and all the examples described in this book are the authors fantasy!
Wow – way to make an entrance, JulianJohn !! But for now the floor is yours so, let’s hear it – do you have a way to “make it” that we all need to know about? Some way that is not “deception”?
Why not share – that’s what we are all here for….

Recently, two separate Councils (in Queensland) and their Rates notices haven’t provided information on my payments made to them, and I wondered why :-
1. They actually don’t provide information re any payments I have made in the past, and
2. How does one reconcile any concerns re recent payments you have made vs their displayed “Balance o…[Read more]

Hi Onex,
After reading your opening post, my first thought was to advise a bit of caution. This post (linked below) from a few years back shows why I wanted to do that for you. https://www.propertyinvesting.com/topic/5027637-need-advice-with-regards-to-property-investment-in-noble-park/#post-5027647

I recall one or two examples in the “big picture” topic – here’s the link to one of them:-

These days with low interest rates I think buying a main residence first is ideal ….
Terryw’s comment above makes a lot of sense – I was one who had earlier thought (10+ years back) buying IP’s first was better from a financial point of view. This was mainly because any Interest paid on an investment is a Tax deduction, while on your own home,…[Read more]

Yeah, that was me having a grumble about what seemed a quite stupid decision. In the end, that was quite a minor disruption, and yet, it didn’t need to happen if they had only thought a little more i.e use a 2am lockdown start time.

Hi all,
I heard that The Vic Govt imposed a shutdown as of midnight last night (Friday 12th Feb 21). A quick 5-day shutdown to get on top of 13 new Covid cases. There was something like a day or two’s notice (I don’t recall exactly – they had time to “stop and think a little bit”), but WHY in the world would they choose midnight Friday as th…[Read more]
