so no-one agrees with me – fair enough im often wrong.
redwing – yep the movie will be interesting. its antesemetic though. people forget that jesus was a jew.
peilican – ignorance – i agree. somethimes i think that the greatest thing about the last 100 years has been the access to information so people can make informed decisions. i might be wrong but it seems to me that areas of the world where there is constant conflict are those where freedom of speach/information is not a genral human right. then again its the manipulation of the media that creates a whole new problem. if there is a choice of the two i prefer open communication ratrher than ignorance then give people the tools to decipher fact from fiction
westan – tks yrs – like most things in the bible all comes down to interpretation.
cheeky old bat and redwing – i agree the problem is what compromises are you willing to make to get ‘there’. sometime its the process of trying to achive wealth thats the evil bit. alan bond can give as much money to charity as he wants but isnt this dirty money. hasnt he hurt enuf people along the way that and amnt he gives to charity will not be enuf.
indifference i reckon you make the same point as pelican..
pinky – power – yep i agree…its an animal instict. the only thing arent we humans meant to be at the top of the food chain and therefore have the ability to make conscience decisions. hence if we realise pwoer is a ‘bad’ thing, we can do something to temper this..
thanks for letting me ramble
dont for one moment think that i think that i know whats going on. im confused….[8]

Virginity sold for uni fees

A university distanced itself today from an impoverished student who has apparently sold her virginity on the internet to raise money to pay for “excessive tuition fees”.
Rosie Reid, an 18-year-old social policy first year student at Bristol University, hit the headlines when she put herself up for sale on a website last month.
According to the website, the online auction closed at midnight last night and the highest bid was STG8,400 ($A20,200).
The site says the winning bidder for the student, who is a lesbian and in “desperate financial crisis”, will be contacted on Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for the university said: “As far as the university is concerned, we have no comment as it’s not a university issue and the student is an adult.”
The website states: “Rosie’s auction highlights the financial problems that face today’s students.”
A spokesperson for Reid later said she refused to comment on the situation.
pinky – whats yr take on the new couple – cant decide if they are nice down to earth people of just a tad scary……
the think that makes me think they are a tad scary is that initially he said that the thing that wld set them apart from the other 4 couples was ‘talent’ and then he proceeded to play/sing the worst guitar song i have heard for a long time. an im sure he thinks he was pretty good.
heres why the neil jenmans of the world are good value.
i sent him the same question this morning to see what his spin on this is and he sent a reply w/in 5 minutes – all for free. well done neil
Dear aussierogue
Thanks for the enquiry.
It is not mandatory to pay a deposit when making an offer, although the Sellers may consider the offer more seriously, if a deposit were to accompany it.
Please call me on 1800 1800 18, should you wish to discuss this.
thanks guys – it has happened to me a few times recently. im just gonna say no. think its just a ploy to test yr seriousness. i think that if you buy and then say no during the cooling off period then they wont refund you the 500
generally iw ould agree with peter but now im not so sure. our kids are gonna struggle big time, and the main problem will be the cost of education. i payed my own way but my hecs was only 15k. 100k is a different matter.
what we dont want is to end up like usa and japan where seemingly middle class kids are resorting to prostition, pornography and drug running to finance their education. thats scary and im not naive anough to say that it couldnt happen to me!!
its like when you enter IKEA to buy furniture. you go in through the front door with the purpose of buying a piece of furniture and 2 hours later you walk out with an entire bedroom suite, kitchen utensils. etc.
the fact that at ikea they make you walk past every single item b4 you get to the counter is not by chance. its a sophisticated marketing technique.
the marketers, the sales proffesionals etc. if your not in the business then you dont stand a chance.
same with realestaet agents. it is there business. they buy and sell homes everyday. they go on training courses. they know which buttons to press, what questions to ask and how to prey on yr insecurities.
it their job.
for the average joe you may buy and sell a house 1-2-3 times in your life. its not yr area of expertise, so be prepared to be manipulated!!!
the jenmans of this world give the average jo half a chance to make educated decisions.
i think in a market that is so heavily stacked in favour of the agent (what hope does a humble consumer have!!) we need a jenman for sure just to redress the balance a bit.
all i can tell you that in business this would be a usual course of action.
if you are looking to merge or aquire or doing something thats complicated the first thing you do is find a team that has done it all before.
rather than being expensive its the cheapest way to go. if you get a lawyer to develop a contract from the start this will cost heaps. if there is already one in use then use it. its just a matter of the lawyer going to his filing cabinet photocopying the contract and changing a few hings like the poeples names etc etc.
they are easy to find – look up the yellow pages call them and ask them if they have expertise – free….
ref blind leading the blind. im not sure i read it that way. more understanding your limitations and then getting the best advise…
i reckon your just up for a bit of tuesday morning debate!!! hehe[]
what i would do is this. find a lawyer who has experience in this type of setup. what they should be able to provide you with is a ‘proforma’ contract ie a contract already in use for the same purpose.
it is impossible for you to think up all the possible scenarios when one has no experience. the work has already been done all you need to do is find the information.
hope this helps
ps – i used to live in five dock. great fish and chips in dramoyne (spelling)
