sibo – i never said ‘they’ were ‘happy’ b4 the christians arrived. nor did i question christs teaching. i questioned the methods of some of christs followers…..
plus the idea that christ wanted missionaries to spread ‘hapiness’ is to me a little of the mark…
pisces – i reckon transaction costs on yr method are prohibative. in victoria with stamp duty, fees etc
pisces the terms ‘easiest and safe’ are contradictions in terms of investing. o/wise known as risk vs reward. if there was a safe and easy way to make money we would all be doing it!!
we may occassionally get lucky but usually to make money its not so easy and the more you want/need the less safe the method is…
my only advise is
– be born rich
– marry rich
– be naturally great at something (sport/music etc)
– rob banks
– win tattslotto
– work as a finance broker or realestae agent
(brokers in any field earn big money for very little work – trust me cause i am one and i do very little work. its all abt controlling information)cheers
marc 1 – your story reminds me of the crusades, or all the missionaries who have helped distort the natural way of things in various parts of the world.
not that i wanna start a religious arguement but the story of jesus’s followers (not jesus) is hardly abt leaving things to take there natural course
you linked the two together…..
monopoly – i agree with mini. business and morals as you put it should walk hand in hand. everyday i see ‘little hitlers’ (in the words of paul kelly) try and pretend there are different rules at work compared to at home.
the problem is this almost always comes unstuck. invariably the two world will eventually collide. why make life so complicated. have one set of moral standards and apply them everywhere you go.
alot of blokes i know say that is unrealistic and that in the ‘real world’ u have to play the game.
well i blve the truely great people think that crap and create a life around themselves that allows them to be ‘themselves’ 100 pct of the time..
lifes to short. be the best person you can….
ps – i wld give a knock out bid. there may be many reasons the young couple are anxious. they could have heaps of money, more than you, but are sick of looking….whose the fool then when you let it go and see them drinking a bottle of grange and the resteraunt down the road…
if the problem is money then its not a problem at all. if someone offers you a lowball price you have every right to say no…. cant get much fairer then that!!
markey – i agree with you. if you are an out of towner it is the agents best interests to find this out as quick as possible and try and pull a bit of a swifty. with country towns going great, +ve cashflow, buying sight unseen etc etc all the rage, these guys can see a canary from a mile.
check all your facs before being sucked in. just because they are from the country doesnt mean that attitudes are as wholesome as apple pie (or shepherds pie)
i dont se a problem in making multiple offers as you suggest. it wont create a fake market because all of your offers, im guessing, will be low balled. i have offered in on 3 places at one particlar time with 3 different agents.
all offers were 20 pct below the market and i told each agent that the first one to come back on my terms would get the sale.
only works when there are a number of places up for sale, you dont get emotionally involved in any of them, and the market is off the boil.
cheers
nice one george – hehe
i agree – it was definately bec – it read like her anyway!
g’day scremin.
good question. i keep telling myself ‘the best things in life are free, and ‘if the problem is money then its not a problem at all’.
i know that doesnt help when all youre craving for is a new set of golf clubs a new car and a trip to fiji.
so i knick onto the golf course just b4 dusk when the pro shop is closed and play 5 holes for free, pretend my car is better than what it is, and watch getaway every chance i get..
hope this helps
derek – good points – cant argue with that. watching people trying to make sense of markets/market forces etc is always interesting and just abt everyone thinks ‘they’ are right.
i want maxi walsh to be right though so i can by a cheap ppor. oh how i would love for a 550k house in melb to be worth only 400k in 12 mos time. let me dream…
darlin, darlin stand by me! ooh stand by me!!!
i was only joking abt yellow cards. youre all sent off!!
pisces – you are suggesting someone who disagrees with you has a mental health problem – yes that is defamitory and in the workplace and other aqreas wld be deemed harassment.
blondie see the word ‘almost’
i disagree – becs comments were almost always very well thought out and not personal in there content.
normally i would agree with you guys and infact i have supported bec in the past. but if you read her last post to steve to me that qualifies as ‘irreconsilable difference’ and no way back!!! there was a tinge of james hird abt it..
you cant call call someone all those things then hope to be part of a club that they invented. if you dont like what it stands for – and she made that perfectly clear, then why hang around!!!
what she failed to recognise is that steve has provided a forum for which she could air her views and then she bit the hand that fed her….
ref this topic – cue pisces
steve – a bit of donald trump in this post. hehe
as you said its your site and you dont need to be lambasted like that.
sorry to see you go bec…..
so pisces that is a wasp (because everyone else has a bee except you) in your bonnet then!!!
whats wrong with critisism – its a legitimate form of debate, discussion etc.
the worry is when it becomes personal.
and to be truthfull i think its getting all a little bit too personal and yes i dont reckon steve deserves becs last post.
when you jump on a treadmill its hard to get off….
we are getting to the point where we are writing things we dont really believe….
lock the topic – hurry
