Difficult to differentiate in a market likely to become more marginal than it alreay is. There are plenty in Sydney (CBD) – some for gaming, some are combination coffee shops & eateries and as far as I can see very cheap – around $1 to $1.70 for half an hour of use.

Sorry DD, but no-one I’ve talked to thinks she is innocent.

We can’t enforce our rules and regulations on another country without invading them. Indonesia is a sovereign nation as far as I know and they are free to set whatever penalties they like for crime just as we are.

I think she was lucky she wasn’t sentenced to death – probably due to the Australian chest beating over the latest cause du jour.

Population is actually increasing in Tasmania

Unemployment has declined over the last few years.

Less average rainfall in Hobart than Sydney

Industry is an issue but there is an astounding amount of development going on down there at the moment.

I would never invest in the small towns either, but Hobart and Launceston are both quite large cities with catchment populations of over 100k.

BTW I sold a house in Lton last week after 3 weeks on the market at a price I wanted so things aren’t going too badly.

Hey Dazzling – I know people here in Sidanee who don’t like going west of Newtown – let alone over to East Africa.

It was a joke in case anyone was wondering – don’t want a posse of Sandgropers lobbing on my door in their clapped out HJ holden to give me a touch up [party]

I’m not a lover of units but one development in the CBD has caught my eye.

    http://www.liveportico.com

It is built inside the facade of a beautiful sandstone church. They have been building for around 4 years now I think.

Wouldn’t it only apply to the portion below the 60k cap though?

So if I earn 55k and have a CG of 50k – only 5k of it is taxed at the lower rate?

Conditioning I think. We are conditioned that the process of buying a car requires several viewings and test drives. Buying a house requires a few visits and making an offer. Both can be emotional decisions.

    Robert,

If you’d prefer not to have to do a six year part time Bachelor degree there may be another option open to you.

I’m not sure of your age/experience but I’d imagine you would qualify on both counts for entry to an MBA program even without the undergrad. Takes 2 years part time, and even though they are becoming quite common, still hold some weight.

Send me a message offline if you want more details.

Everyone will soon be doing DBA’s to stand out from the Masters.

Seminars don’t interest me, but I wouldn’t say they are all scams. I feel that they cater to the “professional student” category – learn and learn but never do.

More like a bad investment decision or poor ROI/IRR/ROCI – choose your own measure.

I think it would be fair to reduce the top marginal rate to 30% and scrap all neg gearing benefits.

All gains and income taxed at the marginal rate.

Is it just me or is there a lot of genitalia measuring going on between some of the roosters on this site of late?

    A’la

My portfolio is bigger than yours.

I have more experience than you.

    My methods are best.

Indeed people need to learn, but not everyone wishes to be a teacher. Some look for stimulating discussions with contempories rather than blind devotion and platitudes.

Could be that this forum is very biased towards CF+ and wraps as these were Steve’s tools of the trade. There’s only so many times people can be bothered answering “Where are all the CF+ IP’s?”.

I agree – let’s stop bad mouthing Adolf Hitler. 60 years is enough, he was just misunderstood and had short man syndrome.

Reality is somehow different and when the misinformation bosses have fulfilled their purposes of selling you newspapers and ads, they have failed to inform you. Rivkin’s peccadillos are pale when compared to the miscarriage of justice of a campaign waged against him from an organisations that needed to show power for political purposes whilst bending backwards for the corporate bosses they serve who brake the law openly every day.

You should know better than parrot back what you read in the gossip columns.
Rivkin was a brilliant mind and a generous nature yet had a lousy psychiatrist.
    May he rest in peace.

I never ceased to be amazed at what pours forth from your keyboard. You manage to patronise everyone in one foul swoop with airy hints at grand right wing conspiracies involving everyone from the 4th estate to ASIC, if I am to interpret your hyperbole correctly.
