    Hi Mick

I double checked with my husband last night & we only as u put it cross securitised. Our rental property loan did not increase. Thanks I'm already on the search for a good accountant in Adelaide. I think that will be my next topic lol. Thanks for the help.

    Dear Annemarie

Thank you for responding. Yes we purchased a PPR interstate and my husband told me we drew on the equity of our rented property to secure our PPR. But I don't recall our loan increasing on our rental so I will check with the bank. I spoke to the ATO & a Tax accountant today over the phone & they never mentioned apportioning the interest :( At least we can deduct something. Thanks for the tip about the getting the property valuated.

    Thanks again Angela

Hi I don't know which areas are the best to invest in (could look at Port Adelaide?wouldn't live there tho atm) but for living, North Adelaide is nice, Blackwood, Coromandel Valley, Flagstaff, Craigburn Farm, Parts of Glenelg & Brighton near water. I personally would stay away from the North – Elizabeth, Salisbury and too far South Colonades. When, I was researching to move to SA from QLD I checked out a lot of British Forums (peops moving over here). Most places are 20-30hr from City.

I am positive about the prospect of +cf properties but needed some reassurance in the face of negatism. Thanks for the encouragement and ideas.

Finally a reply! Thank you Barnsey [biggrin]

I’ve spent most of this arvo surfing the web and reading up the posts on this forum. I’ve come across a lot of good ideas to build on my knowledge. Haven’t found that positively geared property yet but will keep looking. Good luck and hope you find the courage to step over that barrier.
