They certainly aren’t very good at returning emails. I made enquiries on several properties last year and didn’t get a response? I also would prefer that they provide more detail on the location and price of the property.

I’m just amazed and shocked at the news. I’ve re- written this post several times just trying to find the right words. Depression is a real sickness, that often gets ignored, and has sadly claimed another victim. What a waste of talent.

Hi Beck and welcome to the PI Forum,
How much Due Diligence? You can never know enough!!
You need to understand at what stage the property cycle is at. By the time a “boom†hits the media, its often too late, the smart property investors have already scooped up most of the bargains. Beware that interest rates alone don’t explain tren…[Read more]

Hi Guys,
Well it has been a few years since I practiced in Tax Accounting but I do recall the 6 year exemption rule that applies to your PPOR as outlined above. I also thought that a taxpayer was required to make an election in his/her tax return about the exemption so please call you Accountant to…[Read more]

Yes it is possible to slide a house sideways but it could co$tly
(My guess $20k plus) , probably best to speak direct to a house restumper in your area.Instead why not reconsider how the lot is to be subdivided. Talk with the Council or a Town Planner as maybe they will allow a “battle axe” driveway to a second house at the rear. It really…[Read more]

Ok I’m a bit clearer now.
What is the Councils main arguement for not allowing blocks with a 25m frontage? If you can identify the issue they have it may be easier for me and others to answer.
Also I was referring to a private Town Planner and not the person from Council. Most private Town planners, Surveyors, Civil engineers etc. will help you…[Read more]AmandaBS replied to the topic Finding Owners in the forum Help Needed! 17 years, 10 months ago

Hi Earthling,
Generally most Councils will have specified in their residential codes the minimum lot size, but also the min building envelope. If the blocks you suggest are too narrow, it will be difficult for most people to build a home and have sufficient space around them.
Aslo for asthetic reasons most Councils don’t like to see a cul-de-sac…[Read more]AmandaBS replied to the topic First Home Grant in the forum General Property 17 years, 10 months ago
