Great question Ivan. I want to be more involved in Investing while in Shanghai.
I went with an American Property friend to an Expo with a girlfriend. I'm an approachable guy, people came up to me a few times asking what I was selling.
Mean while, there were some Australians there struggling to promote their Australian Property groups. I spoke to a couple of them, most couldn't' speak a word of Chinese.
Ivan, if you know people going to the Expo's that need really good front people….. I have been paid to join entourages to help image and make people feel comfortable.
When I'm there, the only Australian I see regularly would be Daniel Smith (one of Australia & China's leaders in NLP/Coaching). So mixing with Australian Investors there would be my pleasure.

Sure their is a lot of BS in the world.
I love this website because I've never directly done business or talked with Richard 'Qlds007' however I've seen him helping so many new people out over the years through this site. We have a lot of real Success Stories here and I believe what I see here much more than the magazines. I stopped buying Magazines (expect occasionally in an Airport). Rather spend time learning from sites like this and people like Richard and Jamie M.
Tom, I've been talking over Skype recently with 2 people from here and the Somersoft forum. They had amazing success stories. All of us retired or semi retired before 30. Escaping Rat Race in 5years, Single man? no kids, easy with an Australian Salary. With a successful development, renovation, Vendor Finance stratergies, or plans like Wilco mentioned (and sticking to it) in 5 years you could either be out of the race or a millionaire.

Cheers NQ6. I did just that. Found a Carpenter looking for a new home. We worked fast, Im paying him with free rent, his family moving in this weekend. and were rocking it!!
My latest buy, Rasmussen 190k extra cheap due:
problems in the neighbor hood with crime,
Termites eating the lovely cathedral roof, (possibly more)
loads of half started, poor quality jobs started around the house,
Crap work done before hand looking dodgy and cheap.
8 days have passed since settlement.
Termite Problems repaired, >$300
Tactical Pest control going in on Tuesday for long term protection $2200
Tiled Roof Repaired and Resealed $4000
All poor quality to broken lights/switches/fans/Aircons have been replaced/cleaned/serviced >$600
1/3 of the way through already.
Will post an update later for any interested parties.

Perhaps check out meetup.com for some property type meet ups. There you may be able to network with lots of potential investors. Thomas, I would also be suggesting that you try to take some of the well established Investors here out for lunch. Find some people with the experience and success in what your trying to achieve.

Paterson, I do NLP, Coaching, Mindset Training. Generally for installing beliefs, values, concepts of Investors for non-Investors.
The Tony Robbin's and Mindset thing you mentioned is what I most strongly advocate/teach for people to do/use/achieve first. And then focus on how to achieve what they really want. This sounds like what you have described. Very well done. I'm sure your already feeling the oncoming success.

We all hear the News which is often, 'the sky is falling'.
Australia must adapt, and adapt quickly.
Im involved with a few businesses across the Asian Cities. Those guys are all looking at Australia as the Rich and prosperous Land.
Compared to what I've seen across Asia, a lot of our businesses and industries are ahead of the game in Marketing and HR. I feel the businesses which can Adapt to the ever changing market quickly, will lead the markets in the near future. Same for Investors, I guess that's why where all reading this. Rather be leading or riding the trend then fearing it.
Incase you guys missed it, Bowen QLD, Abbot Point project has gained momentum.

Completely respect what your saying about not needing a Mentor. A good friend (or probably a few actually) paid $X for a mentor without achieving much. Personally I currently have a mentor and a 'system' which I roughly follow and having great results. The Mentoring/Coaching I'm receiving is providing a massive ROI.
Is there a lack of good Mentors out there? What if you had a great one for just a limited time.
PS. Im not a Mentor, I am involved in Coaching.

Guys I just joined the Somersoft Forum for some reason (perhaps seeing if there were Townsville Investors on there) and there was a big write up about a woman losing lots on her property when the tenant went bankarupt. This was a commercial property. Mine is Residential. Still I feel really lucky and grateful to have come out with little costs and new experience. and possibly a new lounge.

Im looking for a new one.
Almost got burnt by my last tenant in Townsville. I self Managed and he didnt pay. Didnt want to leave after I evicted him as well. Lucky I followed certain advice and steps from RTA and then a realistic person at RTA. I went to see if they had moved out but the Tenant wasn't there. someone else was. So I called the police saying I dont know who is in my apartment but the tenant was evicted last week. Its not him in the apartment, and they were evicted last week. Its borderline but possibly damages or something so the police were nice enough to come and have a look. They found some Marijuana, and scared who ever was in it enough. the next day the apartment was empty. except for a pile of there trash.
Maybe Ill post that seperate.

Kingsberry Property Managment were doing a kinda ok job. After a couple of years there they seem to get better. they mess up a bit but not so bad.
The Rental Managers were terrible. The owner used to be a family friend but the place has just expanded so much they cant manage what they have.
A few investor friends of mine up here might be pooling our properties with 1 investor to manage all of them. If this goes ahead happy days.

Problem though, they have very bad customer service. They don't return calls unless its to sell you.
I just signed up to one of their promotions were you can do it for 7days then cancel or go through with it. But they started billing me before the 7days was up!
Now they don't return calls or emails
I wouldnt use people that mislead.

Was on a 7day trial, with a subscription to follow. They charged me for the subscription before the trial was over. Lucky I know how to raise so much bad publicity on their company that my refund should be coming in a few days.
I've been let down by a couple of subscriptions, and seen my family disapointed by some education companyies. I strongly prefer books and then spending the time to find genuine Mentors, real help and honest advice. There are a lot of awesome people out there helping others. Just have to keep highlighting and exposing the frauds.

I did that about 10 Years ago. Been great. Yes there have been special Levies, MY roof leaked!
I also did the Gardens myself (and got paid by the BC for it) for a couple of years. Did a better job then the professional Gardeners I might add. Really easy to manage them.
