    I used to live in darwin myself, and may look to invest there myself giving that the train line has now been completed. Although i cant give u ny advice for this area, so i recomend that u take a look at this report, it may help.

    Hey Browny
    Im am new at this too, but i have heard that thees expances are not tax deductable if u are going interstate to look at a property, but if you have purchased and ip interstate then i think that you can dedect these expances. You should check with a tax accountant to make sure, or even visit http://www.ATO.gov.au this site should give you info more precise info on this subject.

    First step is to save a deposit for a piece of property do research into the area that you want to invest, then the rest is up to you. Its not really a must its a want you must want to do it, dont let anything hold you back. But also finishing studying accounting and it may be alot easier doing the numbers around tax time
