I know a freelance house designer who also organises the plans at council and does the tendering.
I am currently using him for the second time, and I know that the builder I used last time through him does 2 storey. Thanks to all purchasers… still lots of great items for sale…
Hi
I have one that I am happy to sell.
I also have a couple of other packages from this site as well as loads of wealth creation, property investing, and general financial and investing books, and the Cashflow 101 game.
You are welcome to contact me at [email protected] and I will send you a list with prices.
I live in Cannington, W.A.Gee, that's one hell of an amount per sqm…… have you compared it to some of the others?….I am soon to sign up for my fifth house building project (currently sub-dividing) and I am looking at Blueprint Homes (already done one with them…excellent all-round) for around $535 sqm to Content Homes in $600+sqm, and various others. Will probably go with Content only because of the shape of the block.
Yes, I'm up for a game also if the time suits. I also have the game myself and I'm ready to sell it…any buyers out there?
Thanks for the great offer Michael….see you there
I remember reading a “sorry” note from Steve re this problem, quite some time ago. As nothing appears to have changed, I went looking for it recently to see how long ago that note was written, but can’t seem to find it anymore.
I used to visit this site daily, but after it changed to this new set-up I became increasingly frustrated at the amount of time spent waiting for pages to load….in the end I just lost interest and left.
From the current monikers it appears that many others who once regularly made comment here have also disappeared. I now return only occasionally to see if the problem has been addressed…..yawn…
Congrats on another pearler Dazzling….again not from luck but from putting in the hard yards to make it happen. I know what you mean by this ‘addiction’ to real estate and the good intentions we have about taking a break.
I have just finished a “mother of all reno’s” in Mandurah. From a flea-bitten, mouse-infested rubbish tip (inside and out) to a beautifully finished property with a valuation of $30k more (in 3 months) than I paid all up, great capital gains ticking along, and already tenanted. I wish I was clever enough to post some before/after pics as you wouldn’t believe the state of it….e.g., how does 7kg of polyfilla needed on internal walls sound!!!
I promised my partner that was the final purchase for me, and I’ve managed to keep my promise for ….several weeks so far…. but I’ve just come off the realestate.com.au website, and also just had news from an agent I use about a local ‘dump’ needing reno…..it was all I could do to close off the email without picking up the phone.[biggrin]Hi pei.chen
Are you asking for a solicitor to handle your real estate purchases?….here in WA we don’t usually use conveyancing solicitors unless there is a specific need. Instead we use settlement agents who are generally cheaper from what I can tell.
cheers
AbbyWould have liked to catch up with you also, but currently spending all spare time on my latest reno project in Mandurah….maybe next time??? Would like to hear more about your projects.
Cheers
Abby*** This is for you Dazzling – seeing as you’re always on my case to post something. [biggrin]
I’m a Clinical Psychologist. I see clients with a variety of problems – everything from eating disorders, relationship issues, phobias (eg social, blood-injury etc), anxiety and depression, abuse issues, pain management, stress, grief and loss, self-esteem, sexual issues, PTSD, insomnia…. It is very demanding and very rewarding (albeit not financially).
When instructed, I attend critical incidents around Perth, that may include hold-ups, accidents, etc and debrief affected people.
I am also a Justice of the Peace, so witness lots of documents for people, and sometimes get phone calls in the middle of the night from the local police asking me to come down to the station and bail someone out of jail. I have also sat in on (juvenile) interviews (required by law) where the parents refuse to attend. I wonder sometimes what the neighbours must think, as I regularly have police cars coming to my house to witness search warrants etc.
People always ask me, so I’ll get in first – the process of becoming a JP took about 7 months and initially involved my local MP recommending me (this just happened to be Geoff Gallop because we lived in the same locality!), then an Australia wide security check was done on me (came up squeaky clean – not even a parking ticket!) then an interview with the Chief Magistrate of the Court. After that I had to complete a law unit over 1 semester at Uni, including theory and assignments, and finally I was given my “commission” at the Law Courts in Perth.
It is a voluntary position and I sometimes ask myself what on earth possessed me to get involved in the first place (that’s another story). It annoys me immensely that I can’t witness my own documents, and have to run around and find a JP for myself.I have done many things since leaving school – my first job was as a shorthand typist, I have worked in an electrical store, immensely enjoyed working for an airline – so much fun, interesting work, meeting lots of famous people, and lots of travel, then as an assistant assessor/trainer (I’ve got Cert IV), then as a security guard at an army barracks in freo and at the international airport, uni tutor for undergrad psychology students, and as a administrative temp for various companies – eg I have a data entry speed of 15,720 keystrokes per hour, which is pretty good.
Since completing my Masters in Psych I’ve worked with addicts (drug and alcohol) and people with aquired brain injury (either from attempted suicide or brain disease). After all of that, my overriding passion is real estate – I live and breathe it daily and it drives my partner crazy, although he happily takes my RE advice and we have both done very well for ourselves.
I am the sort of person who has a hundred things on the go at once or else I get bored. I have always kept myself physically and mental busy and think I’d make a good case study for another psychologist !! [blink]
cheers AbbyHi Rob
Yes, open meetings.. the club is called PPIN – Perth Property Investor Network. Last month was a talk about RP Data and this month about Deppro (depreciation). You can go on the emailing list for monthly reminders of meeting dates and other handy info.
Hope that helps
AbbyHi wapanther
Tracey organises monthly meetings for interested property investors. The next one is tomorrow night Wed 26th Oct at the Loancom office, 191-193 Stirling Highway, Nedlands 6009 from 7.30pm – 9.30 pm, coffee, tea and snacks provided with $1 payment to tea club. Always lots of interesting speakers and information. Well worth the visit.
cheers
AbbyI’m interested…please PM me if anything is confirmed.
Thanks
AbbyYes, I’m hoping to get there. I have a Cashflow game I’ll take along too. The more the merrier.
cheers
AbbyNo specific prices on the website – probably because they are subject to change so often these days. But you can get an idea of prices using the awards info ie…2005 MBA award for best home under $110k was the Grand Kimberley, and for $110-$120k was the Grand Inspiration 236.
Give them a ring and they will send out floor plans and current prices… Paul Hope 6241 4555 (as listed on the website).
By the way, although my partner didn’t fill in his 6-month maintenance form until a couple of weeks ago (and the house was finished last Sept), they are honouring the maintenance contract anyway. They did the same on mine when I was way overdue too.You can find earlier threads on your topics of interest via the “search” facility located on the left of the screen. Type in the keywords (eg.. self owned storage units) and relevant threads are provided. Happy reading.
cheers
AbbyThanks Redwing…looks like another late night for me while I read through the downloads!
Would love to get to the Money Show (and Property Show), but of all the weekends to pick in a year….I’ve got work seminars/workshops both Sat and Sun. Maybe I should take along one of those “How to Stay Awake at Meetings” grids to entertain myself!Gidday Dazzling
Must have missed this thread from a couple of days ago, but certainly didn’t miss the “Moderator” tag next to your moniker when I was reading various posts.
Wanted to put the topic back on the front page, so to speak, so CONGRATS.
As always, I do enjoy your no-nonsense, grounded, humourous and helpful replies.
Keep ’em coming.
cheers
AbbyHi Steven
I’m on broadband, and brought a new computer last month from a friend in the business who kindly included several anti-virus programs for me.
I set it all up and immediately had problems with sending emails (although I could receive them). I couldn’t work out what the heck was going on.
I rang my trusty service provider for assistance and was told that the (external) modem I use had its own firewall and that one of the installed ant-virus programs (Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2005) was interferring with this.
I thought I was being taken for a ride, but sure enough, once I’d disabled the firewall features of the installed program, I had no further problems.
I doubt that I’d ever have figured that one out myself. So while this doesn’t directly answer your query it may still be useful.
cheers
Abby
