Yep, ive just moved into a 2bdroom townhouse/unit 3.2 km’s from the Townsville CBD. It has a small courtyard out back, carport, upstairs/downstairs, and its the last unit in the block (9 units) hence I have a bit more space to use with the adjacent strip of lawn which legally belongs to me!. Potential +++
I can turn it into a fenced off bbq area with space for kids to play. Hopefully this, combined with my lounge room wall rendering, new kitchen benchtops and fittings, and cheap tiles will help me get a good valuation and maybe $20 to $30 extra a week when I eventually rent it out.
I bought the unit for 105k. I hope to recieve $210 – $220 per week. What do you all think??..Hi everyone,
Im thinking to buy a few $flow +ve IPs before heading over to Euro or US late next year. What books can I read to help me set up my IPs so that they wont need too much assistance whilst im away for a year or 2 wandering around the Meditereinian or drinking in Manhatten somewhere??

Thanx for your help. I have been able to purchase a hiset 2bdrm qlndr, in a culdesac, 200mtrs from the bus stop, 300mtrs from the taxi stand, down the street from the local shopping mall + high school + tafe + hospital and 2.5km from the Townsville CBD. To top all this off the house was sitting on a quater acre block….Potential +.
I paid 100k for it at the end of ’02 and unfortunately I lacked experience and knowledge to know what to do next, so I sold 1 year later for 163k!!!. Just 2 months ago i settled on a 2bdrm end unit, 3km form townsville cbd. etc, etc, which I use as my ppor. Now Ive done a stack load of reading, networking, seminars etc and feel ready to buy IPs but maybe i’ll go overseas for a while.
Anyway, I agree that any info on other ways of acquiring $flow+ve IPs would be very well recieved. Thank you again…prost…[buz2]my own due diligence, which is no where near perfect, points to the Qld area steadily moving ahead. There is a buzz in the air up here. Inferstructure is being developed in places like Townsville etc. I’m here on the sunshine coast, and locals reckon the place is crying out for more services, roads etc. In 5 years the popn will be huge here! But I dont see any main industry but tourism. This is excluding the Brisbane factor ofcourse.

I read the ‘courier mail’ 6 months ago and it did an article on the growth corner of SE Brisbane, specifically the area stretching from the airport over the river to Tingalpa, Hemnant etc. Apparently this area has been singled out as a possible commercial corridor in anticipation and preparation of the popn. growth ahead.
It also stated that to export internationally from Brisbane (to asia, us??) is far cheaper than from melb. or syd.GET AMONGST IT![8D]
