How much does house painting cost?

How much does house painting cost?

That is always the question on everybody’s lips but the answer is not so straightforward.

Whether you are renovating, touching up your rental unit in between tenants or getting ready to sell, a lick of paint can go a long way toward making a property look like new again.

Achieving this fresh effect does not have to cost you a fortune – but estimating a budget correctly will take a little bit of research.

What type of paint job is it?

how much does house painting costDepending on the type of property you have, a paint job can be simple or complicated. Get as much detail as possible before you start asking for quotes or considering doing it yourself.

Are you planning on painting the ceilings? How high are they?

Will you need to paint doors, cornices, arks, skirts, or any other unique features?

Is there existing damage? If so, will it need fixing or handled with special care?

How much work will be involved in moving and covering furniture, can you safely handle it on your own without causing damage?

DIY or hire someone?

How much does house painting cost? Ask around and get several quotes. Do not accept estimates over the phone or internet as it is important to see the project and discuss the specifics.

You are likely to get a full spectrum of prices in this process – every company is different and you are largely paying for the service. Aim to achieve a balance between quality and quantity.

Remember, the better the quality of paint and the paint job, most likely the higher the house painting cost – but the longer it is going to last.

For me, I'll go hire painters for my house! They are more familiar with these stuffs than I do… and since they are friendly and helpful… well i can ask for some tips for the minor DIY touch-ups in case that some part of the wall needs some re-paint sessions…
