All Topics / General Property / Making Repairs Prior To Sale
Hi everyone,
My partner and I are selling one of our IPs. The spa bath in the main bathroom doesn’t work. Short version is I think we should get it fixed so it’s working when the house goes on the market, my partner thinks we should leave it as is and price it accordingly.
My view is that anything wrong with the property is going to give potential buyers leverage to negotiate a lower price if they have to foot the repair bill post-purchase, and that because my partner works for a plumbing/electrical company the cost to fix for us will be far below retail so any repair cost we should get back when it sells by not having to drop the price.
I’m interested to hear any opinions on this.
cheers
Pete
