My wife is being posted overseas for at least a year, probably three, so we will need to rent out our home outside Sydney. What sort of things should we be looking to organize letting the property to make sure we maximize both our income *and* protection for our investment?
On a theme, we have a granny flat on the property which is currently occupied by our daughter. To save complications we want to install a separate electricity meter. has anyone an idea how much we might be letting ourselves in for regarding the cost of getting the new meter??
Lastly… are there any hints anyone can make to help us reduce the pitfalls we might meet on the way??
