    Hello,

I am a soon to be 30 year old civil engineer currently living in Sydney. I have come to the conclusion due to a number of reasons that I would like to purchase a property which is at least 1000m2 in size to try and live a more self-sufficient lifestyle. ie grow my own fruit and veges, have some animals and also look at sustainable power, water and waste options.

I would love to be within 20km of the ocean if possible.

I have been looking in the Nowra and Gosford regions as it would be great to be within a couple hours of Sydney (although I am willing to explore other locations as well).

    My budget is around 400-500K.

What are your thoughts and suggestions on both the location and general idea?

I hope you’re not driving to Sydney everyday – that would offset your sustainable living :-)

Sounds like the choice is a personal one – and with $500k to spend your options are huge.

I like Nowra – close to Jervis Bay and is quite large so there’s a bit of diversity in the economy.

    Cheers

    Jamie

Thanks Jamie. Definitely not planning on continuing to work in Sydney once I buy a property outside the city.
