    Hi there

Are there any disadvantages in buying a brick exterior finish apartment (loft) as opposed to a concrete painted one? Its a new development in sydney inner west however I've just realized that the exterior will be heritage brick finish.

I'm more concerned on the resale value down the track..

    Thanks in advance

I prefer the heritage brick look over painted concrete. Painted concrete gets dirty-looking quite quickly, and is difficult to wash/repaint without scaffolding when you are talking second storey or loft

I don't see an issue with a brick finish.

Like Jac said – painted concrete can look pretty run down if it's not maintained. There's a block of apartments near an IP that I own that are painted white and it hasn't been maintained in ages – it looks terrible.

    Cheers
