All Topics / Value Adding / First timer wanting to enter the renovation game
Hi All,
I'm wanting to get into the renovation game and I was wondering if there's anyone outhere that could offer some advice to point me in the right direction and on where to start on getting information to educate oneself. Are there seminars courses out there or even books (any recommendations). Is it worth doing a project management course?
Please advise. Thank you kindly
Youtube – you'll learn how to do everything!
It sounds sarcastic but when renovating our first IP a number of years back – I used youtube to learn how to tile, render, rip up flooring, etc. I don't have as much time these days so prefer to fork out the money to let the pros take care of it.
Cheers
Jamie

How big is the renovation and/or what are you specific renovating? Renovating is a bit like driving your first car. Whether you think you are not going to have an accident – you always will. Therefore, you don't go out and buy a Porsche as your first car. Similarly, start small with a renovation. You will learn a lot from what to do yourself and what to leave to the professionals, to use of materials and everything in between.
Before you start any renovation – first speak to a few agents and determine what sells and what doesn't.
