All Topics / Legal & Accounting / Good tax accountants on the Sunshine Coast or in Brisbane???
Hi i've done a few searches but can't find much current info. I did find a post from 2009 reccomending AFA in Maroochydore. Does anybody here have any recent experience with them?
I'm 27 years old and have 4 investment properties spread across NSW and QLD. I've just moved to the Sunshine Coast and would like to meet with an accountant who specializes in property investing to complete my 2011/2012 tax return.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi Smidy
Get you wallet out if you go that route.
Sorry can't help you on the Sunshine Coast.
Had it been the Gold Coast now that would have been different.
Had the same Accountant for the last 15 years and i have one or two IP's and he never seems to struggle with those.
Cheers

Hi Smidy
Why do you feel the need to "meet with" the accountant? These days it can all be done via phone, email and fax. This is a good thing because it means you are not restricted only to accountants with offices in your local area.

Hi Smidy,
Further to Jac's comment – why not continuing to use your previous accountant, assuming they were up to scratch,
They already have your details and an understanding of what you are trying to achieve and have your previous records at hand.
Thanks for the comments guys!
Richard, could you send me the details of your accountant if he'd be interested in taking on another client?
JacM, yeah I guess I just like meeting with them as I usually gain a bit of education by chatting with them.
And Derek, yeah my old accountant didn't specialize in property, didn't really have any interest in property and when I mentioned I was moving he told me to let him know the details of my new accountant so he can pass my info on so I took that as a bit of a hint.

From a business point of view it is always cheaper to keep a customer than to advertise for a new one. Some business just don't get it and it seems you found someone like that.
Oh well – his/her loss.
