I have just started a career as a real estate agent purely because my dream is to retire on an extensive property portfolio and create a passive income for life. My strategy was to have a job in real estate so that I get as educated as possible in my field to achieve my goals. I would like to start a networking group of like minded people in Port Macquarie who share the same ambition. My thoughts are a master mind team which could consist of builders , developers, local council members, real estate agents and accountants.
A group like this could help each other not only from investment perspectives but help to create referral business in their day to day jobs.
Have any of you encountered such approaches? If not what are your thoughts behind this idea.

There's no reason why you can't make these contacts without being a real estate agent and there are a lot of people who have done well out of property without working in the realm of real estate.
