    Hi Everyone,

Any insights and thoughts on whether the Queensland Building Boost Grant of 10k might have a chance of further extension beyond 30th April this month?

    Regards,
    Eddy

They were saying on one of the property investing shows that Campbell Newman’s government voted against it when they were in opposition, so the chances are slim to none.

Given that Campbell has agreed to drop the Stamp Duty for PPOR properties to allow for an owner occupied concession i think the chances are slim.

Thanks for both the comments guys.

If that's the cause isn't that bad news for investors in QLD, well 10k can be a lot for some investors out there I would imagine…

Agreed, nowadays it getting harder for first home buyers to get their first property, maybe the other states will do something similar too to help the next generation.

Even under Labour the First Time Buyers Stamp Duty concession on properties less than 500K was never removed.

The grant did make new properties more attractive – moreso than normal market conditions would have suggested. While the grant may have added a few extra 'new' properties to the market it did serve to detract from similarly price3d s/hand properties.

It would be good if they did extend it, I know I will have a couple of homes built if they do
