All Topics / General Property / Gladstone or Calliope?
Hi,
I am looking to invest in Gladstone (Little Creek) or Calliope..
As I am not local any advice/opinion will be more then helpful. Thanks!!!
Hi Invqld
Calliope has had better growth than Gladstone City over the last 12 months.
It's cheaper and is a nicer location (not as industrial)
PM me if you need some further help or info.Actually an article today advises that the better growth was in Gladstone.

Gladstone +$60,000
Calliope +$41,000I see it as similar to Port Hedland vs South Hedland. The best growth occurred at the port. Gladstone will be the same.
Travelling to Calliope, it is nothing special. If you want to be out of town, Boyne / Tannum is lovely, water views and a great beach. Good shopping and a nice area. Historically the premium suburbs.
But if you want capital gains, Gladstone itself is where the corporate tenants are going to be living, which drives rental gains and house price growth.
Thanks for the info Mattnz, although that is based on a dollar value in that report and not a % value, which Calliope was actually ahead.
Calliope is value for money, it's a lot prettier than being in a lot of areas in Gladstone. It's higher up too and has better breezes and is overall a lot cooler location, so the Poms moving in from OS will be happy with thatThanks for all the info.
We were in Calliope/Gladstone last weekend and decided to buy in Calliope. As new investor I really hope that that was the right decision
