I have a granny flat at the back of a property.

Does anyone know the legal way to 'name' the granny flat?

    For example: Flat 1 / 26, … St,…
    OR 26A,…. St….???

    Thanks in advance.

I have called mine 100A, keeping the front house as 100. Seems to work ok, no confusion from anyone.

    Cheers,
    Luke

    Flat Granny, Geriatric St, Wrinkleton.

Actually, council may have a preference but it won't matter to the postie as long as he can relate letter address to letterbox. I also prefer A's and B's for dual occupancy.

I've called mine "God's waiting room" but seriously 1 & 1a works for me. If all else fails, there is information on the Austpost website.

Well you don't have to notify any Government or other agencies. The postman will just see the 100A and pop the envelope in there. So perhaps make sure the two letterboxes are close together for the postman.

    heehee good little postman!
