All Topics / Legal & Accounting / Wages Software – Can Anyone Help or Suggest?
Hope someone can help or suggest a program for wages / payroll.
Just taking over a business currently employing 10 casual staff.
Need a wages program that is easy to setup, understaqnd and run.
It needs to do printed pay advices, and calculate
gross and nett casual wages,
tax,
super,
extra super payments,
as well as YTD running totals of the above,
and weekly and monthly totals showing amounts payable to ATO & super funds..Does anyone have a spreadsheet already running which can handle the above ?
If so, I’d sure appreciate you emailing a copy. Also would appreciate any recommendations about programs.
Cheers

Hi thecrest,
I used to do the payroll and super at my old work and we used MYOB. I found it to be pretty easy to use once I got the hang of it and you can prin off payslips, profit reports, super reports, etc….and much more!
Hope this helps,
Daniel.
There is a program called 'Cashflow Manager', easier to use than MYOB, and looks like a spreadsheet on screen.

It has cashflow software as well as Wages and Invoice programs.
I used to use Wagez Windows years ago. Found it easy to set up and use for 20 employees. I also found that you could update it each year for the tax rates and other information cheaper then updating MYOB or Quickbooks.
If you are taking over a business with ten casual employees, I'd suggest you probably need accounting software, so you don't end up giving your accountant a shoe box full of invoices and receipts at the end of the tax year. This leads to a very expensive accountant's bill
MYOB and Quickbooks have a whole range of accounting products that include wages software. They start with quite reasonably priced products for small business, right through to software for very large businesses.

Some good suggestions here, if you want only payroll, MYOB and QB entry level are around $700 & $500 respectively.
I’d really appreciate as many suggestions as possible, something will ideally suit this purpose,
and I’ll look at just about anything. Sometimes the simplest are best.Cheers

Hi,
Another option is an online program such as http://www.paysonline.com.au/ There are a number of similar sites around.
Regards
Got to agree that sometimes 'simple' is best. Just watch out for the sad fact about software, i.e. a lot of software won't 'talk' to another manufacturer's software. This leaves you with the frustrating task of entering the same information into different software, e.g. entering all your pay details into payroll only software and then having to enter it again into accounting software.
Cheers, Paul
