All Topics / General Property / Can the Peak Rental Demand in Brisbane be sustained?
We have to be thankful to the likes of the mining giants like Rio Tinto who have moved their operations head quarters to Brisbane CBD. Massive demand for fully furnished apartments in the CBD and no vacancies has trickled unprecedented rental incomes to the CBD’s neighboring suburbs for fully furnished apartments.
I would like to get your thoughts.
Do you believe this trend is sustainable and if you owned an inner city residence, would you now furnish your ip to seek premium returns?
There will be several factors weighing in on this trend as to whether it is sustainable:
a) migration – are the workers immigrating with families, dipping a toe in the water or are they fly in fly out?
b) are the jobs temporary or permanent?
c) is it having a knock-on effect to more distant areas?
d) is supply going to keep up with mining-fueled demand?
