All Topics / Help Needed! / National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS)
Hi,
We are first timers and doing LOTS of research regarding +CF properties, I have come across the federal govt's Natioanl Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS). It is suggested that investment buyers can enjoy an indexed tax free rental incentive of more than $9000 each year for ten years. I'm not sure if the old adage of 'if it looks too good to be true, it usually is' applies here? The information I have is in an area south of Cairns CBD, any comments, feed back, experience or opinions is greatly appreciated…
cheers T&D
Hi T&D
Here's a link to a previous thread about NRAS:
https://www.propertyinvesting.com/forums/getting-technical/finance/4337285If you "search" NRAS under the Forum tab at the top of the screen you will find some others where people have talked about NRA
My understanding of it is in order to receive the $9-10K bonus you have to have your property rented out at atleast 20% below market rent, to low-middle income earners who meet the criteria.
Cheers,
Nathan
