Hi all I am new here ,Well we have decided to get serious about investing in property, we currently have a rental in Albury which we purchased from the neighbor due to needing money to move into a retirment home and was cheap, we paid 180k and spent 20k on some cosmetic changes and rewirering ,it is now valued at 270k and we rent it for $295, it is a big old 4 bedroom 1 bathroom place plus our own place is a 3×2 and is valued at 420k and we only owe 120k so now we are thinking about buying up in the surat basin area  our  outlook is long term as wish to build up a passive income and then retire

    Hi Billnbec

Welcome to the forum and best of luck on your investing journey.

It certainly sounds like you’ve got some equity to work with – which is a good first step. Next step is working out whether you can source finance based on your current financial situation. It might be worthwhile having a chat with an investment orientated broker.

    All the best

    Jamie

    Hi again

Do you mean mortgage broker or financial adviser?

If broker, I don’t know of any in Albury that I could recommend. However, with today’s technology it’s pretty easy to deal with any broker you choose irrespective of their location. Everything can be done via phone/email/fax.

    Cheers

    Jamie

Get in touch with Richard Taylor (userid Qlds007 on this forum).  He's a broker, as well as investing in property himself.  He's great at looking at the overall plan, and making sure property is bought in the correct name and loan structure for maximum tax benefits.
