Hi everyone, I landed on this site while doing some research into the NRAS scheme.
My situation is as follows:
Me 44yrs old earing approx 100k, Wife 47 earning approx 90k. We have one child 16yrs old.
We are mortgaging our house which is currently valued at around 550k (the mortgage is 450k) & have no other debts.
Our problem is that we have no investments……..
We feel sure that we want to invest in property but really don't know where to start. Despite our earnings, we really do not have particularly large cash surpluses & ideally would like to find a positively (or nuetrally) geared property.
At this stage of our life we feel somewhat nervous about having so little & not being all that far away from the back end of our working lives. My wife really does not want to be working forever & quite frankly we are both a bit embarassed to have so little as an asset base.
Any advice?
