All Topics / Legal & Accounting / a caveat
Hi,
Can someone inform me if a vendor who is selling a property does not go through with settlement on settlement date than wants an extension than still does not go through with the settlement. Can the purchaser persue them for breach of contract and can we put a caveat on the same property that they are selling again to recoup financial losses we encounted from the non sale of the property namely conveyasing fees, lawyer fees .
Can anyone help with this matter we would be very appreciated. We are in Tasmania
Thanks

If you have signed a contract to purchase a property, then you have a caveatable interest in that property. So you can lodge a caveat.
