Who should sign the rental lease?
I have been told by my real estate agent that she has a perspective tenant who wants to rent our property. The man has a good credit history a job and his references are all ok. His reasoning for moving in is that he needs a bigger house (4 bedrooms) because his son and his girl friend are moving to Invercargill for work reasons (the real estate agent has no further information).
My question is should I ask for all tenants to sign the lease. I am not sure how I would stand from a legal or insurance perspective if things went wrong?
