All Topics / General Property / Any Investors who have found quality buyers agents in Adelaide or Brisbane?
Hi All
We are looking for a honest buyers agent in either Adelaide or Brisbane (as this is where our next IP will be). Can anybody out there recommend somebody who has been succesful in meeting their objectives. Can you please give me an idea of the costs they charged you with and any warnings you may have.
Have no idea about either of these markets so would rather leave it to the professionals.
Thanks
PeteHi Pete
Cant talk for Adelaide but in Brissie i use Keith Clarke at Mayfair on 0411 516259.
Keith is actually the Principal of the office and unlike your average Real Estate you tell him the sort of property you are after and he locates.
There property management department is excellent so i normally tailor my acqusitions around what they tell me will rent well.Give him a shout and tell him i sent you. Good luck.

Hi Pete,
I've had a fantastic experience with a Brisbane buyers agency called RedRoof (http://www.redroof.com.au) – I approached a couple of buyers agents, but these guys stood out with their professionalism, ethics, approach and track record. They also managed to save me more than my buyer's agent fee on my purchase – couldn't have asked for more!
There are a lot of Brisbane selling agents that pretend to represent buyers, but in reality they are working for the seller and when push comes to shove, they're not on your side. Definitely recommend you give RedRoof a call.

Hi Pete,
Ive just used a Brisbane Buyers Agent – Hot Property Specialists. The girls, Liz and Nicole, did a great job.
They were very straight forward and well priced too.
I purchased a really good quality investment with heaps of capital growth potential, with a great rental return. I had a tenant ready to move in even before the property settled.I think their web address is http://www.hotpropertyspecialists.com.au
They'll definately be able to help you.

Sorry call me cynical but it is strange to get recommendations to such an old post from people who have had only 1 post. Care to expand on the details of your purchase and the deal you got from the brokers ?
Sure Chetnik 73,
Im just new to property investing so spending heaps of time on the net researching, reading blogs etc and came accross this one so thought I would add my two bobs worth anyway.
The girls at Hot Property Specialists did a great job on the first property for me so researching where to purchase again and trying to decide whether to buy in South East Queensland or look at going further afield.
They've just helped me purchase a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in Loganlea on a huge block of land, well below market value so you could say Im pretty happy – using the built in equity to buy the next one now fairly quickly.
Hi Chetnik73,
My apologies for this late reply. I hope it is of assistance to both you and any other person seeking to purchase property in South Australia.
I am a registered and licenced Land Agent (RLA: 240452) operating as a dedicated Buyer Agent in South Australia and am a Member of the Real Estate Institute of South Australia (REISA).
Apart from myself there are a few other dedicated Buyer Agents working in South Australia. I do not personally or professionally know of their skill and expertise so i can not comment upon that, however i will provide you with their details for you to contact.
There are many (dozens) of people and organisations that purport to be "Buyer Agents" in South Australia yet many do not seem to hold current registrations / licences and are not Members of REISA (although one i do know of advertises that they are!).
These Buyer Agents (apart from ourselves!) are registered and licenced Buyer Agents and are Members of REISA:
– Waterman & Waterman (Chris Waterman) – http://www.realestatebuyer.com.au/
– Adelaide Buyer Agent (Alf Petito) – http://www.petito.com.au/
– RealTeam Property Group – http://www.realteam.com.au/It is always advisable to ask any person or organisation you intend on employing to service your real estate needs for their "RLA" (licence registration number). Please be wary of any that can not provide you with a valid RLA.
You can check the currency and validity of an Agent's registration and licence with Consumer and Business Services (CBS) – formerly the Office of Consumer and Business Affairs (OCBA). The online Licencing Public Register can be found here: http://pubreg.ocba.sa.gov.au/pubreg/pubreg_jsp/index.html
In order to provide additional protection to consumers i would also strongly advise checking whether any Agent you seek to employ is a current Member of REISA. You can check the current Membership status of Agents here: http://wic003lc.server-web.com/~admin417/index.php?page=member-directory
Please also be cautious and check whether a Buyer Agent you approach also acts as a Vendor Agent (most do under different business names) as this can often place the consumer at a disadvantage due to a conflict of interest and an inability to refer a Buyer to ALL suitable property. Dedicated Buyer Agents as listed above (and ourselves!) do not act as Vendor Agents that i am aware of and should actively protect and promote your rights and best interests.

Kind regards,
Old original post I know but I have been impressed by the professionalism of Andrew Allen's cooments on this board.
While I cannot comment on his work at the very least it would be worth picking up the phone and talking to Andrew.
Do a search on him.
+1 for Andrew
His knowledge is impressive and he’s a regular contributor to this forum.
Cheers
